That was one of the things in the lost post ,to wish you nice weather for your holiday Jenny and to Nic too.

Free ,hope you are ok after your tumble, what is the matter with us?! I think it was this time last year that I dropped a massive rock on my toe.I haven't fallen over since primary school until now.:pMy bruise has all but gone now but my arm is slower to get better.

Kerri, you could bring the cost of your patio right down by doing the job yourselves,if you are up for a divorce as it would be at my house! or buy used flags off eebay and pay a professional to lay them.I have almost finished laying flags in my garden,I have enjoyed it,but it has been a slow job.But i am still married:rotfl:

Pk,it sounds like your little boy will be a lovely big brother.I did the same as you about only having grass in the back garden until the kids were at uni  I did loose several pots and even a hanging basket to footballs, rugby balls and cricket balls.

With your pots it is expensive to plant up with bedding plants because they only last about a month.Look at shrubs and fruit bushes and perennial plants which die back in winter and come back in spring.Supermarkets and carboot sales are cheap places to find plants.

Been to the GP today about my thumb which locks up and is painful,he thinks its bony growth round an arthritic joint.I'm not convinced,I think its tendon problem. He has also doubled my stomach ulcer tabs.It would be great if it actually got better.

Is there an April craft? Easter?

Just back off the school run, penultimate day this term, 2 weeks of lie-ins, lovely.
Goodness, all these falls, and other injuries, please, please, no more, summer's a comin' and l want you all well to enjoy it.
Glad DDs op was a success, Free, she (and you) were overdue some good luck.
Nothing Christmassy here, but still decluttering, managed to offload a slow cooker a deep fat fryer and a George f@rman griddle thingy onto my beauty therapist friend, so a bit of room in the kitchen. and l still have 2 slow cookers and an airfryer, so most tasks covered. Cant persuade myself to part with the pressure cooker, it still gets used plenty.
Why can l get rid of clothes, but not shoes? books, but not garden/craft magazines?
l also need to find a home for a flymo and a petrol mower, oh, and a strimmer that are surplus to requirement. That's this weeks target, along with another box of crockery.
Need to get into the little loft to get out a suitcase for DD as their hols are next week. (lf she takes it, she has to keep it, but shh, she doesn't know that yet!).
Right, off to raise caffeine reserves and de typhoid the bathroom.
  • I believe my increased sickness is because I tried to cut the dosage of my anti-sickness tablets. I was on three a day when I was really bad at the beginning, I dropped to two a couple of months ago and because I was feeling better I tried to drop to one in the last week which resulted in me being and feeling sick again. I feel so awful about taking medication throughout my whole pregnancy but I don’t know what else to do if I’m going to repeatedly be sick without it. I took it the whole time I was carrying Wiggle, I had reduced it to one tablet a day in the last couple of months, and even tried to come off it completely before the end as I was feeling better but ended up being sick again. This pregnancy seems to be going the same way. Anyway sorry to waffle on about sickness and medication, I’m just sat here feeling really guilty as I’ve just been to the doctors and got a load more tablets. :(

freespirit good job in the garden but sorry to hear you hurt yourself, I didn’t know gardening could be so dangerous! I hope you’re not in too much pain and that it all heals up quickly.

vulpix ha ha yes I am imagining losing most of my pots at some point! The trouble I have is DH is just as bad with the football, actually, I think he's worse than Wiggle at kicking it about! Thanks for the gardening advice, I shall try some of those options instead. As you say we only get a couple of weeks at a time with flowers. Can you get a second opinion from someone else about your thumb?

mrsinvisible good work on the decluttering, I’m like you, I find some things easy to get rid of but then others really difficult!

Peppa - Nope, nothing back about my ECG yet. I can only assume I'm not about to drop dead anytime soon! :rotfl: Will have to try ringing about it eventually but I think I'll leave it a while longer.

What a clumsy lot you are. Anyone want to borrow my username? :D

Hope those under the weather are feeling better soon. xx

Just a quick stop by, I'm currently enjoying day 3 of tonsillitis. Grrr.

Re the patio, we don't really have the time to do the patio ourselves and by the time we've hired everything we need ..incl a good solicitor :rotfl: it makes sense for us to get a nice man to do it for us. Most have said it's a couple of weeks work all in, one guy has come in about 10% of all the other quotes and reckons 2-3 days (that includes three features that need building)

Kerri, thats grim,I hope you feel better soon. Those quotes have a massive difference in time.My builder laid me a patio and put drains it etc and it took about 3 days.It was about 20ft by 10ft.I don't know how much it cost because he did other stuff in the price. What are your features? just being a nosy garden geek.

Free, get you getting back on the horse. You will be watching gardeners world next, and then it's a slippery slope. Thanks for vibes, just the tip of the ailment iceberg! I started taking Turmeric yesterday for pain. Will let you know if it helps in due course.

Enjoy the amazing weather.I am manning a stall at a community centre fund raiser this afternoon and DD1 and bf coming later, then we are off to someones 50th.

Ps PK if you plant pansies and you pinch off the dead flowers they will bloom all summer.

PK Vulpix is right about the pansies, and, if you don't dig them out at the end of summer and leave a few blooms on they will self seed and give you another crop next year.
DGS goes on holiday tomorrow for a whole week, his mum and dad and his girlfriend are going too. l know lve said it earlier, but l need to keep reminding myself that l wont see them for a whole week, (will mrsl survive?)
DS2s car was mot'd on Friday, but needed work done so will be ready on Monday.
l got a lovely bicycle for DGD for the summer, from shlop,/shwop something like that, £25 practically brand new, and when they go back to china l can re-shwhatever it again. Need one for DGS2 now.
No real plan for today, lots of things in the garden and greenhouse to do, not to mention the dust indoors.... l said NOT to mention the dust!!
lf lm outside l wont see it.
    Have a super Sunday, xxx
