I will try to join in but depends what time we get home from visiting family. I look at my cupboard and know I desperately need to start as it's easier to store once wrapped than all in various bags/boxes that just go in as they arrive haha :D

    Hello,
I'd like to join in again, i tried to last year but i went AWOL as I got caught up in the motions of buying my first house and got distracted with that. I'm really excited to make my own traditions this year with my SO.

I've yet to read back up the thread and see what you are all up to so far, but just a tip if anyone you know likes smellies for Christmas they have some brilliant deals on at the perfume shop at the moment i got a £50ish bottle of aftershave for £20 which has kick started my gift buying, its a bit late this year, but we have a lot less to buy for this year.

Sammy-kaye- OMG no wonder you have been feeling rough! (Im sure that's an understatement). Hopefully now you have the dosage and timing right things will get better x
I have wrapped this afternoon as I probably wont be able to join in tonight- too many eyes and noses in this house- and they are all adults too! DS is the worst, he loves Christmas and actually shakes on Christmas morning! (he is a senior IT manager and 27!!).
I got a soft nougat for moms advent calendar this morning and it has been whispering my name since we got home so I have wrapped it away from temptations way. I also got a kellogs cereal advent calendar from Tesco for £4 to go in DS's advent calendar ( primarily to balance out the rest of the calendar which consists of IPA beers) .

Molton Brown are doing 25% off any order until Midnight Sunday is anyone is interested in that. It is expensive but the shower gel (I get one each for the kids each year) its a case of a little goes a long way.

I have started to do a little crafting this week and have got DS's, Moms and Sis and BIL card done, I like to incorporate an ornament into each card that can be used next year, so they tend to take a fair while to make. I have been working on a sleigh but I have run out of mojo for that.

Vulpix- that is a real pain that you don't have any recourse to the MOT garage , especially as the outcome could have been so very different for your DS. Hope you get your car back soon x

Enjoy the wrapping party- hope you all have your mince pies and sherry at the ready xx
    lovin' this site!

Hope I can join in here?
It's my first year hosting Christmas ever  and I'm more than a little nervous. Also, I'm abroad and sadly no pound shops etc here. I also have no xmas decorations and currently no budget to buy them so am trying to hand-make as many as possible and also hand-make a lot of presents from things I already have lying around the house... without it all looking rubbish! I've already made a couple of snowflake decorations out of old toilet rolls: just need to paint them and add glitter! :rotfl:

Just been catching up as far as i can and saw this. I remember making little snowflakes when i was younger with paper that looked really intricate
    .
Get a square of paper and fold it in half to make a triangle.
With the pointy end up cut up either side of the triangle towards the point leaving like / \ so the cuts don't meet the point do a few cuts and make sure each side of the triangle is symetrical.
open it out and on the inner diamond take the top point and the bottom point and glue them together, flip the diamond over and then the next diamond along do the same but obviously its the opposite side of the paper, keep flipping the paper and joining the ends of the diamond.
Thats one of the arms of the snowflake, you will need to make 6 of these and then join them all together.
I hope that made sense? I'm not good at explaining these things in words so if not let me know and i will see about making some picture instructions.

Just popping in to say Poundland have 250g bags of segsations in at the moment, clear packaging. They stopped doing the Christmas tins of these so 3 bags are the equivalent :D

Hi Guys, im here checking in ready for some Christmas fun!
  • I'm in for the party! Been busy all day, looking forward to a bit of a chill. Think I will focus on what I have for the families, will then be able to work out who has what etc. Have got toiletries, but need more shoe boxes for those, decided it will be more streamlined in the bag if everything is "squared" up, but will do as much as I can. Found personalised plaques on Studio so will get one ordered for each family which they can use for future years, quite nice little things which says "Welcome to our home at Christmas" with the family name. Everything else they are getting will be edible or usable, so something small to keep.

Was in Superdrug this morning picking up bits & got Lynx shower gel & deodorant gift set for £3, allegedly reduced from £7, there is no way on earth I would have paid that much for it, especially as it is all packaging!
A smile costs little but creates much :)

    Yeah! Hi Gettingtherequickly x

I picked up some gifts today that I had ordered 2 weeks ago from the entertainer. I ordered 2 board games for my dad and a sewing kit in a pretty case for DD.
I have received a 3 pack of dvds for DD too but unsire whether to put the in her stocking. oooh exciting I love me some christmas.
The plaques sound lovely, what a lovely gift that they will be able to reuse every year x
