Which is more illegal? Lane Hogging? Or undertaking somebody lane hogging?

(or so it seems).
Not going to call you anything - it was a genuine question because I honestly don't understand why someone would choose to take the (even slightly) more risky route around someone who's clearly below their standard already.
As for never doing anything illegal / wrong myself - the speed awareness course I've got booked for 10th Feb makes that one a difficult claim for me to justify :rotfl:0 -
Someone flashes me they have slim to no chance of me moving over
That smacks of a bad attitude. A flash is a legitimate signal, and if you do get flashed, you should be considering why. Maybe you're in the middle of an overtake and they're just being impatient, but just assuming that every flash you get is useless is wrong.Since when is flashing the lights to intimidate someone to move over legal?
How do you know it's to intimidate you? Don't take so much meaning out of a couple of lamps burning for a second. You drive up close behind someone flashing lights its attempted intimidation,
That's 2 seperate things - driving close, and flashing. If they end up close to you, have you pulled out in front of them, for example? There is no need to flash you lights anyone
Of course there is, it's even in the Highway Code - to alert another driver to your presence. Perfectly legitimate to do this behind another driver.
There are a number of instances (in the area he lives) that lane 1 is only for vehicles wishing to exit at the next junction. These "slip roads" can can extend for some distance have been introduced to increase capacity.
If there are 'normal' lines (not short fat ones) between the lane, if you haven't passed any signage or road markings telling you where the lane goes, if traffic conditions allow, you should be in it.0 -
I "undertook" at least 20 cars on Boxing Day going from London to Leeds.
I find it safer to stay in lane 1 and keep a careful eye on the person in the middle lane than to go from lane 1 to lane 3 and back to lane 1.0 -
Oh dear, I thought this thread had died a natural death over the festering period.0

Only undertook a couple yesterday travelling from Glasgow-Manchester and back, I moved over to lane 1 whilst they were still in lane 3. Passed them, then returned to lane 3 to overtake the next load of those sitting in the middle.
Done a few lane 1-3 and back to 1, even got a flash at one point, but the driver still sat in the middle.0 -
You can't defeat them, I was joining the A12 the other day, on a slip road behind someone who was doing 40 mph. I hung back, to make some space so that I could join the road at a higher speed, as lanes 1, 2 and 3 were clear, I planned on getting into lane 2 as soon as the slip road markings allowed. Just as I got into lane 2, she pulled out from the slip road straight into lane 2 in front of me and continued to drive in lane 2 when lane 1 was completely empty.0

In those circumstances, she would of got seriously flashed by me.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -
I hate these slow mid-lane hoggers on the M6...I always flash them a lot if it's awkward getting into the fast lane.
Then if they don't move I take the slow lane, go into the middle lane then go at their speed for a bit with my indicator constantly on to go into the slow lane. They still don't move...annoying !!!! tards
Don't see a problem with undercutting providing the lane is clear and you have a !!!! tard who refuses to budge. Police never seem to enforce mid-lane hogging
I also hate those !!!!! in the fast lane who can clearly see there's no easy place for you to move into mid-lane as cars already there but they still refuse to slow down and get right up your backside although you're already at the speed limit
