Just back from a rather cold & damp afternoon walk. 8 miles done today.

Flying back to work tomorrow so my walking will be rather limited.

Did you really use 1 million calories?

I did 6000 miles cycling in 2015 and according to Garmin connect I used 235,000:D

Fitbit includes the BMR calories plus the additional calories from exercise.

I'd like to join please :) been tracking with Fitbit for years but v bad towards end of 2016 (combination of lack of time, awful weather and leaky boots). This would also help me to address my total lack of movement on Sundays.

    Last year stats:
    4 million steps
    10900 floor
    1762 miles
17 weeks where I averaged less than 10k steps per day :(
10 weeks where I averaged more than 90k steps :)
    Top week: 121k steps
    Worst week: 50k steps

Sorry for all the detail, just for me to compare against at end of this year.

10 miles today hillwalking - though I'm on hols so a lot more time on my hands. I've also got a major and very beautiful walk planned tomorrow if the weather holds!

    Also, I'm counting EVERYTHING lol!

I know what you mean about the dogs, I am looking after one this weekend and even though I am full of the cold, she doesn't understand this and still demands that I take her out as much as I normally would
So far today it has already been over 5 miles and still at least 2 walks to go, I'm hoping that they are short ones :o

My walking routine is all to pot. I've a giant schnauzer just turned 6 months, she can only walk for 30 mins at a time. It'll build up over the year, but it is kind of limiting unless I leave her at home and then I feel guilty.
  • Can I join in please? I work in km so I'll have to aim for 3220 km in 2017.

I've got a Fitbit which tells me that I walked 8.2km yesterday and 11km today so I'm at 19.2km which means I'm just over target :). I had a couple of walks in the hills yesterday and today to get the blood flowing after Christmas. Today was quite funny as there was one guy retching into the bushes after a steep bit.

Think I might work in kilometres just because it sounds 'more':o

After a poor exercise day yesterday (for reasons beyond my control), I am happy to report that I am just slightly ahead of schedule.

A decent walk after work today should put me well ahead of schedule.

3246 km in 2017 doesn't quite have the same ring to it ;)
