I'd like to join this challenge please.
I rack up quite a few miles just working as I work in a busy cafe/restaurant and am on my feet 7/9 hrs per shift.
Have started back at the gym today. Did a step class this morning which nearly finished me off.
Had the really bad chesty cough and cold thing over Christmas and New year so fitness levels have really dropped.
This challenge will give me the incentive to get back on track.
I will start putting my miles on here each Tuesday when I get my report from fitbit.
I like a challenge and will enjoy the company along the way.Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £600 -

Welcome to the challenge. In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:0 -
Reporting in at the end of the 2nd week 15 Jan 2017:
As of midnight last night, I have walked 245.29 km (152.42 miles) putting me 111.89 km (69.53 miles) ahead of schedule. In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:0 -
If you wear your fitbit 24/7 (like me), you will find there are numerous ways to get your step count up. Going to the supermarket can easily become quite a work out.
I ignore the step count on my device and only count the measured distances that I run, which is tracked by GPS.
There is no way to distinguish the steps counted when running and the steps counted when walking (I don't think, not that I have really looked) and as I am only interested in the mileage that I cover when running so seems easier to just ignore all the steps and just count the runs.
Anyway to update at the end of the week for me....
2017:

Hello Kantankarus - love the name:D
I'm about 5 miles behind. I have managed to do 10,000+ steps every day, which is a sub goal. I knew there was going to be a few days which would be difficult, doing a few hours driving and seeing customers in the evening is leaving me with little time.
Trotting round the environs of a Premier Inn in Stevenage getting steps in, is not my idea of a rock and roll lifestyle:p0 -
Ok so my first stats for the year......fitbit report gives me 33.59 miles so will call it 33.5.
This is not an average week for me.........usually do more. Got a good start to this week yesterday by getting just over 20,000 steps in.
Just hoping I can keep up the momentum.Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £600 -
Ooh I'd love to join in I have a Fitbit to track everything, I'm up to 95.91 miles so far this year, it would be higher but a twisted my ankle just over a week ago and it was four days of limited walking before it was well enough for me to walk enough.
I only started tracking my steps in September and I managed 988 miles by the end of the year so if I can do the same all this year I will be well on track for 2000 miles, if it goes really well I may even push for 3000. I'm hoping to get back into running too and start couch to 5k, that would be on top of what I'm already walking. Before getting my Fitbit I was quite sedentary and didn't realise how little I moved each day despite working up to twelve hour shifts on my feet all day, by just making small changes the time I'd spend stood still is now more productive even if I just walk on the spot while I work or constantly shuffle my feet it all adds up to extra movement. I've also lost a stone and a half of weight in those few months so plenty of rewards to keep me motivated.0 -
Hi fosterdog.........welcome. :j
I love my fitbit and the extra motivation it gives you.
On a work week hustle challenge this week. There are 5 people in it....3 of whom are really fit and get loads of steps in. It motivates me as I dont want to come bottom.Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £600 -
Thanks, I love mine too, I did have one of the original Fitbit flex bands in 2014 but it ended up with the charging fault that so many had, I had a refund to shop around but none of the bands on the market at the time did exactly what I wanted, then the charge 2 came out in September and it was exactly what I wasn't looking for.
I hit 30,000 steps for the first time on Saturday and it came up with a little game to play on the band as a reward, it was a bit silly but now I want to push it to see if any other things unlock. I spent 10 mins one night running up and down the stairs because I was on 235 floors for the day and just knew there would be a badge for 250 so at 11:30pm I pushed myself to achieve it.
I've used the workweek hustle and came a very close second to a very active friend who I was beating right up until I was physically exhausted at the end of a long and busy week, I synced my data and went to bed as the winner but woke up to find he beat me by a few hundred steps. He is so competitive he stayed up late on his treadmill just to beat me but did say later I almost killed him that week. I haven't done the weekend warrior yet though because I am very busy and active on Saturdays but Sundays I have so much to do that I can't really fit in much extra walking so it's usually my quietest day of the week at between 2000 and 6000 steps.0 -
Total so far: 194,107 steps 387 floors 155.1 km 51,063 calories0
