    Hi all

Well done to everyone who has done so well this month.

Unfortunately, I'm ending the month around £30 over budget. I've been a bit under the weather for most of the month and I have used it as a bit of an excuse to indulge myself foodwise.

I'm a bit annoyed, but I'm on the mend now and determined to do better next month! Onwards and upwards!

    See you all in February!
    2025 goals
    GC: April £100
Savings: save £6K (or move house)
    Health: Lose 3 stone
Mind: read at least 24 books
  • I emailed my side of the appraisal yesterday and we started the appraisal today and I was told we'd not be going through my section. We made headway and I was clear about not getting pushed around and that I can only know something if it is communicated to me. I suggested a few things we can put in place. Anyway, I wasn't fired and we're trying to make things more positive. Sadly there were no apologies offered by my employer for her behaviour, which means that this is likely to be a recurring issue. The upside is that it is all written and recorded so if I have future issues and end up having to leave I have her signature acknowledging and accepting what I have submitted as being the truth.

is the company too small to have a HR dept?
I had similar with an ex boss and ended up going sick for 5 months. when I had my 1st meeting with HR I couldn't believe it that she was there to take notes of our meeting. needless to say it was a very quiet meeting. after that I requested she wasn't there and that worked better for me.
in the end I got a transfer so I don't have to deal with her. sending loads of MASSIVE hugs.

Sorry, I haven't been updating here for the past week or so, I was away visiting family. I just had a look at my YNAB for the total so far, and I'm standing at £152.79. One more delivery coming tomorrow and I have to get a few bits for tonight, so I'm estimating around £200 for the month. :j

    RANT ALERT !
I do wish peoples wouldn't use that horrible 'F' word on here - it's a learning curve for us all, especially when you're in the first few months. It's meant to be helpful, showing you where you can maybe make better planning, budgeting and shopping choices and set a realistic level for you.

It's not an exam or a competition - please try to look at it more constructively and don't decry yourselves. Just by taking the challenge on you're doing something positive and definitely not 'F' if you didn't get it quite right. Just add a few tweaks
    SORRY - RANT OVER !

Ooh Lynnejk - I read back for ages before I realised you meant F**l not F**k :rotfl:

You are right of course - just trying means you are succeeding on one level - if you don't hit your target there are other things around your learning and working practices you may need to look at. Or maybe something intervened, beyond your control.

Hi everyone. I am going to declare at £60, I did spend £3.41 over, but I have taken that out of my overflow jar, which is from GC's where I have been under. It's not a very healthy looking pot, but as I only set a low budget, it should do and hopefully grow. If there is any left over at the end of the year, hopefully, it will go into savings, that's my new plan.

Lol I read back too before realising.

My dear old Nan used to say there are no failures in this house only tryers and if you try and don't quite make it you have succeeded in learning something.

An overflow pot is a great idea, I also like to see what is carried over in stock so wont have to be bought for a while. Have a look, think, bet you have loads more than £3.41 worth.
