Difference of 1p between available and balance - why?

I've just checked my bank account and there's a difference of 1p between the balance and available balance. How could that be? I haven't bought anything for 1p. All payments in and out are up to date and reconcile with my receipts etc.
It doesn't really matter obviously but I just wondered if there could possibly be a reason - or just a glitch.

Sometimes I think online retailers do a test of 1p to check the debit card is valid, this doesn't tend to appear as a 1p debit but the available balance goes back up after x number of days.0

i know when you buy petrol at asda .
it shows as 1p in future transactions, then full amount is taken later.0 -
Mine shows as £1 on my credit card...........0

It's probably due to the bot I have running which takes 1p from all other accounts and transfer it to mine .....

It happens quite a bit to my account, too. I keep waiting for a debit to appear but it mostly just disappears after a few days.I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.0
