Not sure what that kindle link is never used that, looks more for kindle owners, I use kindle unlimited through the kindle app. Upto 10/12 books to loan at once, you just log in, select store and near the top there will be a text link to kindle unlimited and away you go.0

Yes I forgot to mention The Echo, my latest toy and the vast amount of music I can ask it for, all for free.
Is the echo the little one or the bigger one with the really good speaker?
Tempted by the little one, £44 currently i think. Is it worth it?
What i really want is something that will play music from one room and then continue it when i move rooms. And ideally with video also. But i maybe jumping ahead a bit without spending silly amounts of money.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

I was told the echo has its own speakers and the smaller dot needs to go through external speakers. The quality of sound is amazing though and it finds a lot of very obscure music for me .I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Prime might be ok for the TV.
However, if you think you will be obtaining a much faster (IE next day) delivery service then forget it. I am only 7 miles from the amazon distribution centre and out of 10 parcels, 1 came next day.
For me it was no good so cancelled it.0 -
Echo has surprisingly good sound, Dot has a weeny speaker but is designed to be connected to another system.

Multiple Echo units don't play together (at least not yet). You should look at Sonos for this.
>Is it worth it?<
Probably yes, of if you have at least Amazon Prime, or better Amazon Music unlimited. In the UK, it can't read Kindle books yet. It really needs integration with BBC Radio Player and BBC listen-again.0 -
I think its well worth having, but I have the Prime Student which is half price for up to four years. Even at full price I would save a fortune as I order so much from there and also use the music and video choices occasionally, it has been brilliant this Christmas as I have been unable to go shopping so I think my entire Santa stock has come from there!0

            Hi
DH ordered the Amazon Prime free trial in July 2015 (we had been looking at it for at least 6 months) and think it is worth having for:
(a) The Grand Tour, (b) free movies / programmes for the grandchildren when they visit, (c) Great amazon series e.g The Vikings ( Ragnar Lothbrok ) and many others.
The Prime postage / free delivery is a bonus but not a reason to buy it.
It works out at less than £7 per month / £1.54 per week, so value for money.

Early retirement 1/10/ 2016.

I rely on Amazon Prime quite a lot, but I have the student version and I'm not sure if I'd want to pay full price for it!
As a tip for those who already have it:
If your order is next-day delivery and it fails to arrive the next day, you can ring or email and they usually offer an extra month of membership as an apology. It's not 100%, though you can always be bold and say "is there anything you can offer me to make up for this?", and it doesn't count if it's beyond their control (e.g. massive snow storm).

Prime Student myself and think it is great, but wouldn't miss it if it went full price. Not sure how someone isn't getting next day delivery through Prime, thought that was guaranteed?0

I use Amazon frequently and have always opted for the free delivery, which I find is generally shipped in 1 or 2 days, and even delivered with Amazon Prime sticking tape plastered all over the box.
I certainly would not want to pay 79 for 'free' delivery on items under 20. I have had a couple of free trials, and I found items where not delivered much quicker (1 day at most) over the free service. and I am not impatiant enough to pay 79 for this 'free' delivery which is a tiny bit quicker at best than Super Saver delivery.
Last time I looked Amazon Prime was also more expensive on in the UK then anywhere else in the world. Why is that?
I have zero interest in video, ebooks and other intangibles.0
