Did you actually read what you posted? A small minority on both sides, but none of Remain?

It is not a question of merely being 'full of bile towards those of a contrary opinion'. I have grown to dislike the mentioned individuals intensely, for a variety of reasons.

    1. Those based in Britain for their self-serving attempts to subvert democracy, using such tactics as stating that Leave voters are stupid and uneducated, and other such methods (when I know that the people who voted Leave of my acquaintance are anything but stupid, and thought through their decision very carefully; none has regretted their decision). Democracy is a very precious thing, achieved by countries over centuries with great difficulty. Once it is lost, it is only regained with great difficulty, and these people are a serious threat to democracy. When it comes to the politicians mentioned, they are failures who think they can gain power by going against the will of the majority instead of standing up for our country in the face of the behaviour of the petty dictators in Brussels. They also include people who would gain personally from Britain remaining in the EU.
So do you really think, had the vote gone the other way, that UKIP would have disbanded and their politicians stopped campaigning to leave? Or would they have carried on seeking election on a platform of leaving the EU? Would such actions have made them a "serious threat to democracy"?

Farage even said before the vote, when he thought he'd lose, that if the result is 52-48 is wasn't over and he'd be demanding a second referendum. He seems to have gone quiet on that! Some leaver, again thinking they'd lose, submitted an online petition for a second referendum and then got all narked when thousands of remainers signed up after the vote :rotfl:

Maybe the SNP are a "serious threat to democracy" for still campaining for independance having lost the referendum a couple of years ago?

Personally I think everyone should just accept the result and get on with it - remembering what the question actually asked was, ie remain or leave the EU. Instead of trying to second guess the reasons people voted the way they did. There was no question on free movement. There's no reason not to do like Norway. That's for politicians to debate and decide, that's what they're paid for and elected for.

They kept that quiet. Never knew that when we leave the EU we lose our British Citizenship.

    He never said that.

We will lose our EU citizenship (well those of you who do not have EU ancestors will)

You need to read it in context. What I mean is that Diane Abbot and others are saying that the Leave voters are ignorant racists, and by implication none of Remain are. I don't agree with that. I think it's factually incorrect and grossly irresponsible. Those are the kind of comments that create deep divisions in a society that can take years to resolve.

The truth of it is that it is a small minority in both sides.

Or to add some helpful punctuation -

A small minority on both sides...

Not: All of Leave and none of Remain.

I am happy that we as a nation decided to leave the EU, I'm happy that i finally see the bright future that each and everyone of us can embrace.

    Life couldn't be much better:)

Yes I can see how that might make you happy. I do hope that outside the EU we continue to grow and prosper as we have done in the EU. I wish I felt more confident that this will happen.

So far we have not left the EU, and the evidence is a little patchy. Some firms have indicated that they will move to the UK, others that they will leave, inconclusive I agree. The pound has fallen and prices are rising more quickly which is not good for those on low incomes. Too early to judge but I am not sure where the bright future is that you see.

We only lose the EU 'citizenship' if the 27 so determine. It is there decision.

This sounds like another angry remain voter, be happy and rejoice in your liberation

Liberation? Yes I can see that. If you are simply looking at issues like total control of our future (control our laws, borders, immigration etc) then we are indeed on that road to liberation.

If like me you are fortunate to be financially independent and able to retain EU Citizenship, I agree it is not really an issue for us, we will do very nicely out of this. Were I reliant on the UK economy thriving over my life I am not sure I would feel so liberated.

Livng and/or working somewhere isn't the same as citizenship.

You will be liberated from those huge old rusted chains that is the EU those chains that have been holding you and i back for so many years, oh the joy it brings..

As for factual evidence, i will supply you with as much as you could only dream of, but please give it just a couple of months once we've left and those dreams will be reality. However by then you will see it with your own eyes and won't require evidence:beer:

What will have changed in a couple of months? We may have served A50, inflation will be higher, the pound will have declined, Trump will be stabilising the world, and we will presumably be "in negotiations" with the EU27.

But yes the beer might help :)
