What makes you WANT to be debt free?

  • Also thought of another ...... this is such an open ended question ....

Okay a few weeks ago I was struck down with 'the flu' - if it was my darling husband it would be 'killer flu' anyway my son also had a cold so we were totally housebound - all I wanted to do was sleep and stay in bed - all my son wanted to do was 'play toys mummy' as he had just turned 2 and had a load of wonderful toys to play with - it was one of the hardest weeks of my life - harder than when he was a newborn in the first few weeks and you didn't know your a$$ from your elbow or even if it were day or night - I would dearly loved to have said to husband 'please stay home and look after Spencer - I just can't manage it' - it really was up there as being one of the worst times of my life - I lived in my dressing gown (greasy hair - you get the picture) and fed him cereal one lunchtime as i just couldn't stand up and prepare food - I felt so weak.

To cap it all one day husband arrived home and said 'this house is a $h!t t!p ..... well bu**er me it was all I could do to make sure that we were fed and watered let alone do the f****ing hoovering and dusting etc

You know just to have money again ................

    Debt-free and Proud!
Basically, I want to be debt free for the following reason. I have a job that I dont like but cannot change because of the high salary I am earning. I need the salary to pay for my debts. I earn a good salary because of the long shifts and the dangers associated with the job that I do. I earn approximately double the average earnings for the area that I live in. If I was debt free, I could afford to leave the job I am in and do something more enjoyable with more reasonable hours and conditions.

  • I have foolishly picked up and accepted the idea that having debt is very normal in life and its ok to live beyond your means! (I'm Bloody day dreaming)!!!

I feel the pain now, when 70% of my salary is used up to repaying MY EXTRAVAGANCE over the last 4 years! Before that i did'nt have any debt!

Being DF will give me freedom, confidence and better quality of life. Just that thought itself makes my hair raise!!! and imagination makes me happy!

    Back to work then!!!

Anyways with your list, on of the things NLP taught me (which I should use more) is to word things in ways of saying what i want, as opposed to what i dont want.

    whats NLP?

    Afternoon, my lovelies

I want to be a woman in charge of my own destiny, and a clued up cookie who makes sound financial decisions. :D

(Being in debt makes me feel like a clueless muppet who's handed over all her power to the banks and credit card companies. :( )

    Love Jacks xxx :D

Lord, grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change,

  • I wanna be debt free so I can spend more time with my daughter without having to worry about whether I can afford to do the things she wants to. she's not spoilt, she just wants to do same things as her friends, who's parents aren't that well off but who aren't in debt either.

I'm stuck in a c 'rubbish' p y paying, boring job cos I need to pay the debts. been trying to find another job for ages with no luck.

Ultimately (once debts cleared) wanna go do teacher training so that I will then be doing the job I wanna do, will earn a reasonable (not madly brilliant but reasonable - I'm not greedy) salary for me and DD.

I wanna b able to afford to fly her to see her dad at least once a month.

I wanna b able to take her for a fortnight in spain/somehwere equally cheap n cheerful once a year.

I NEED to get some sleep so I'm not biting her head off at the end of the month before payday, whenever she asks for something that costs money!!

I'm not asking for much am I?

OH !!!! - can I also add that I would buy a new microwave - as I was sitting here typing, my jacket potatoes have been zapped by the ten year old thing - its also broken a plate in there as well - sometimes it doesn't cook them at all and other times it ruddy well nukes them. I know its a bit late for lunch but I was trying soooo hard to just have breakfast and dinner and skip lunch that it all fell apart.

Oh and on a totally frivalous note (sp?) I would get liposuction and tell the gym to shove their direct debits and circuit training classes where the sun just don't shine !!!!!

HAPPY FRIDAY AND HAPPY WEEKEND TO ONE AND ALL!!!!!!!!

Argos had one in at £20 last weekend I think, microwave that is
