I was able to bargain against the "loyalty team" with the now expired £21 SSE's 76mbps + Anytime calls. They could only offer the £28.75 for the same package so I took it.
You could try to bargain with Virgin media 100mbps broadband for £23.

The £15 includes line rental (as I said). So looks pretty competitive to me.

No.

But it is/was a Carphone Warehouse exclusive. I think it may have expired now.

Origin Broadband are presently doing free ADSL with line rental at £17.99 for 12 months.

Fibre is only worth it if you are an online gamer and require low pings. General internet usage makes to difference if you are on a 8mb line vs a 40mb line.

My 18 month contract was up - and I got offered the same price (£28.75) on a 76Mbps fibre connection, 2 months ago - seriously TT get a lot of flack for poor customer service - but once connected and "part of the system" - I have nothing but praise for them - no issues at all in 20 months (100% uptime)

I'd leave talktalk and go elsewhere. Their service is shocking and even now while typing this I'm on to someone who has a poor grasp of English in their call centre trying to get £10 back that they billed me for in December despite me leaving them in October!! 19 minutes of talking so far and he has only just realised they have billed me when they shouldn't have! Last month they tried to take over £300 from me for my final bill, then after another long call to a substandard English speaker they realised their error and changed it to 50p!

I moved from talktalk fibre to BT. I'm at the same house with the same line, but talktalk gave me 15mb down, BT give me 22-25mb down and it's more reliable too due to a better router. The wifi reaches a lot further and doesn't crash.

Talktalk are shocking.

Whilst I cannot excuse TT's supposed mistake with billing - I would like to query your claim to only receive a 15Mb fibre connection - did you regularly switch off your router ?
Did you inform TT and get a reset ?
And as forthe WiFi reaching FURTHER - have you been watching the misleading BT advert (with Ryan Reynolds claiming that the BT signal is stronger than BT's competitor) ?
The strength of a signal is purely down to the transmitter/router/hub - so cannot be used as an argument ...
TT's HG 635 Router is the best going in terms of speed - so were you using something else ?

Talktalk were aware. They told me the maximum speed I could get was 15mb on their fibre service and they were right. It was. I never went over 15mb with them.

When I was on to their retentions team they claimed that BT would probably be quicker and accused them of having an unfair advantage owning Openreach and often giving faster speeds to their own customers that Talktalk customers didn't get. I didn't believe it at the time but I get a much faster service with BT fibre compared to Talktalk. I've asked on a couple of sites and it seems that this isn't unheard of and a few others have had this happen to them. Not sure what causes it but BT infinity at my house is certainly quicker than Talktalk fibre.

ive seen that advert however I'm certainly not basing my opinion on it.

I am speaking about facts I have seen with my own eyes.

The wifi from the Talktalk router failed to reach my conservatory or rear garden. The wifi from the BT hub reaches here without issue. On top of this I also get a full signal and no drop outs on the top floor where the Talktalk router had issues.

So in my experience the BT router performs significantly better in terms of wifi compared to the Talktalk router.
