DKtress ..honest you will get there, we "own" our home (well the bank does for another 5 years) But we got it 18 years ago as a deralict shell, for 70k with both of us working, thats all they would give us lol and have just saved to do each bit, there was no heating, no bathroom, no water pipes (an almost preserved victorian house..even gas lights on the walls) I'd hate to think how people can afford to buy these days but then also no minimal wages (or possibly very low) ..swings and roundabouts. ..I did get into debt and have been paying it off (I used the cc to get our deposit together!) .we also got turned down for a remortage as they said we couldn't afford it .For us it worked out lucky as it saved us a fortune. I hope something wonderful falls at your feet as it did with us xx (two hand salute to the banks)

Thanks for the vote of confidence, but a 20 year mortgage would take me into my 70s. The bank doesn't care. They lend up to 75 years old. But I've had a house that needed a new roof and heavy duty landscaping and I am not sure I feel up to in anymore.0 -

Morning All,
Well done to everyone. The debt busting this month was a fantastic start to the year.
Muppet sorry I didn't manage to update you yesterday with my January figure of £474.79.
I'm not sure how I am going to do this month as we have our honeymoon, so still need to get some new cloths and spending month.
I am going to continue to try and push for as many no spend days as possible. This month we also skipped a few weeks food shop and just used what was in the cupboards. Its hard going but I feel you always have stuff in the cupboards you can make a dinner out of but you don't bother. So this saved abit for us as well.
Keep going everyone. We can beat this together. :beer:2017 ChallengesDFBX17 #14 £70.14/£21,321Xmas 2017 #37 £0/£352

In a quandary, I have enough money to pay off one of the credit cards in my ISA, which is gaining (small) interest, but I also have an interest-free period on this card until July. Do I pay off the card and have that amazing feeling of clearing it, or do I keep it in my ISA until the last possible moment to gain some tiny interest?
I feel like I need a decent pint to help me decide!2 Credit Cards: PAYDBX 2018 - #131 £1566.37 / £8594.48 18.2%0
