I think it was you that mentioned him to me!
Have to say it is really helpful, yes he is a bit OTT sometimes, but I kind of like that
When the calls come in about getting car finance, and he tells the calle they are bonkers.
That resonates with me.
We have a really crappy little hatchback that we paid cash for.
But now with the baby arriving, we have to size up.
Everyone at NCT classes is in White 4x4's, and Mercedes with personalised registrations.
Really been so tempted lately to get a finance deal, but good old Dave won't let me
Bit like my daughter's primary school, another one turned up in a new white BMW (they are spreading, they are all getting them) on Tuesday. They have a small toddler too. Had to laugh as they won't be best pleased when they are potty training and the poor little boy wees on their leather seats :rotfl:
There is less stress having a sensible car with little ones. Milk, nappy leaks, juice accidents when they are tiny. I always have footprint on my seats, finger marks on my windows and Disney music in the CD player.....and often the rattle of 2 fold down flicker scooters in the boot. :T But no stress of cleaning leather seats :eek:mortgage free wannabe outstanding Now £26,000 2019 £40,000 2018 £46,900 2012 £109,000 Survey 2017 £355 2018 £438 2019 £412.91 2020 £260.43 2021 £308.89. 2022 £383.700 -
I definitely hear you on the car front, we have recently bought a touring caravan and although I have never been interested in my car before now when we go away everyone has big shiny SUV's etc ....must admit I was tempted but it makes no sense whatsoever so my trusty old Ford Galaxy will most definitely have to do for the foreseeable future x0

So, another £300 paid off the debt today taking the virgin card to £3370. Clutch in car is going to cost a bit north of a grand, and will need doing next month, so have put some of what I would have paid off the card towards that in preparation. Will probably mean a bit of a token payment on the card for next month as well before back to full whack for July.
£300 off for number 129 please muppets
As an aside, my front page total is quite a way out. Have so far paid £2151 from the student loan, both my other cards in full and £380 off the Virgin card, so total of
£4002.89

Hi All!
Checking in with this months payments totalling £710 so far from regular monthly payment, selling some bits and an overpayment from my wages. For some reason I thought I had paid £100 more but on double checking I haven't, but still this is my biggest payment total yet in one month. 19 days to find some more payments before the next payday!
I do have £400 snuck away in bonds but I know my car needs repairing so saving it for that.
Well done everyone so far and congratulations Kirstypoos on smashing your target! :T:j:beer:

Just paid of my credit union loan today:T so now just onto my credit card
Now at #57 £689.72/£1,500
I've to go get a loan out for my upcoming holiday this August as a few unexpected bills came in and we had to dip into the holiday moneyHowever I'm seriously considering taking out extra money along with the holiday money to pay off my credit card. It will take me longer to pay off - about 18 months, however the interest isn't as high with my credit union than what I'm paying on my credit card. I'll have a working out of figures later and make a final decision.
It will also make things a bit easier for us in the short term to be honest as it means less money being paid out each month and will cause less stress and worry.
Anyone any advice?Pay all debt off by Christmas 2025 £815.45/£3,000£1 a day challenge 2025 - £180/£730 Declutter a bag a week in 2025 11/52Lose 25lb - 10/25lbs Read 1 book per week - 5/52Pay off credit card debt 18%/100%0
