Just realised I hadn't removed the ex off the house insurance, she could have otherwise still called up and accessed the insurance and made a claim.

I have since removed her and the children along with a high value item, and I am getting a £27.23 refund.

  • Had a bill for my truck today as it had a couple minor issues..... £240.
Followed by a deposit on a summer holiday with the kids which was £400.

    Not exactly a NSD :(

  • Not really NSD day - no...but essentials and fun; at least it's not frittering money away on pointless items :)

  • Thats the LO's dropped off at school. Youngest was quite upset this morning at me going, it seems to be affect her the most which is quite heartbreaking.

Not much has really happened on the MSE front, I listed a couple more items on eBay and one I have had to withdraw as a couple of key parts are missing but once found I'll relist as i should get £300-500 for that item....

Had my 0% CC pin through but no card yet..... looking forward to having that so I can then press on with my next step which is current account switching.

The truck still isn't 100% which is a pity as he said the next part to try is £290 alone without labour :(

  • Sympathies, expensive car trouble is the worst. I do hope your little girl had a good day at school.
Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D

More than welcome Mandy, I plan on paying for the oddsmonkey service from March so I'll keep updated with how I find that and if the £15 a month is worth it....

Thanks Sarah, these things happen. Least I have the home still, after putting so much effort in I would have been devastated to have lost it.

The date went well actually, it all seems strange after so long of being "comfortable" but I'm a social person so I can happily be plonked into almost any situation and I'll chat away :)

Yes, hopefully this will be the last of the issues with my truck. That reminds me I do need to get sorted some breakdown cover ready for the summer when I tow the caravan.

yes after a little while she ended up playing and was happy enough. Really does tug on your heart strings but not a lot I can do about it. I've decided for their birthdays rather than buying lots of gifts instead I am going to get a token present along with spending the money on an activity with just that one child so its more memorable.

1day left on a couple of eBay items, I have found the missing parts on the withdrawn item, just need to repair a damp bit and then photo and re-list. Had quite a bit of interest from messages even after I withdrew it so still hopeful.

  • So pleased the date went well. Having started dating myself, this year after 14 years out of the game, it gives me hope it is possible. How did your kids find eureka? I keep seeing friends on Facebook taking theirs but worried it would be too young for my three. Pretty close though so I should take them.

Hope dd3 feeling better, my dd 2 has been most affected and I know it hurts her dad. So big hugs for her.

Ahem........ as you two are both single and seem to be getting along well......................

    :D
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
