Sydney is a little more difficult to find. Without knowing where he was from it is hard to pinpoint him.
From the details I have for him, there is only one birth of a Sydney Christoper Smith and that was 1879, 6 years difference from the date you have given.
However the census tell another story. Please bear in mind that I am only looking in London at this time as they married in Lambeth which I found, but you already have the cert you say.
Just incase...
Marriages Sep 1909 (>99%) RANDALL Violet Louisa Lambeth 1d622 SMITH Sydney Lambeth 1d622
If you haven't already got this cert, use the previous link again to order it. Again this cert wil cost only £7 with the reference numbers displayed above. (1d 622)
This will give you both father's of them both.
You can possibly compare it to the birth to make sure they match.
I have had different first names for the same person, (ie marriage cert said said he's father was George Foster and the birth cert said Sydney Foster - still working on that).
I have the marraige cert it says sydney smith ( no middle name ) was a scultor age 28 adress given was kennington lancs i think it says his father is christopher smith who was deceased at teh time of the maraige which is 4th sept 1909.
violet louisa randall was 18 when she maried sydney there is NO profession for her but the funny think is teh residence is the same as sydney would this be beacuse she worked for him???? her father is albert randall and his professin looks like parman or carman they married atst philips lambeth.........
they only had one child .....my gran.who was born 5th may 1915 but we belive she was made an orphan by the age of 5.......
which i think sydney would be born around 1881 , the important thinks i want to know is there deathsInside me lives a skinny woman crying to get out - but I can usually shut her up with cake!0 -
If anyone requires a look up on Ancestry, please do not hesitate to ask.
Just send me a quick pm with details of the person you are looking for, DoB and possibly where I should be looking.
Please include any middle names as this narrows the search down alot.
