The upside is I made my 1st Jan payment early, ensuring I am more careful over Christmas, and also lowering the interest just a little bit more.
Oh yes, last year I pushed myself just that little bit further, plucked up the courage and used a chunk out of my e/fund £1,500 to o/p as I hadn't reached my 10% allowance allowed to o/p by the end of the year, I am so so glad I did this, as this year I reached my 10% allowance sometime in August whilst building up my e/fund again, and have been saving and patiently waiting for the NY when I get my next 10% allowance to o/p.
I for one would encourage anyone that would feel comfortable/considering doing this - should :T. As they say -

Hello, can I join in too please? Don't mind what number I am allocated. I would be happy with overpaying £3600 (£300 a month) as we need a new roof and a new shower this year.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Can I join this thread please?
I'm in the process of downsizing after buying my ex husband out earlier last year. I should be moving January or February time at which point my mortgage will drop from £85,000 ish to £40,000 on a 15 year term.
I then want to chip away at this as once it's gone i can then save more for my retirement. As a single Mum on a part-time wage, I'm conscious my pension won't be huge. I'll also have two children to support and would like to be in a position to do this. They're 8 & 6 but I'd rather start saving now than when its too late!0 -
I forgot to add a target.
I guess it'll be the £45,000 from downsizing plus £50pcm after that. I'm on a tight budget already but hoping every little bit will help.0 -
Hi just got my actual figure which is £12,462 remaining. Thankyou hiddenshadowCherish those you have in your life because you never know when they won't be there anymore.
