    Steak 'n Shake!!

edited to add that I see I have been beaten on this suggestion.

Must remember that hubby is nearly out of their seasoned salt, so we must pick some up.

    Us too, we love it

I have booked with various companies over the years and always paid upfront (thought that was the norm) with free cancellation.

I have only used a price match after booking once with rentalcars and they price matched without hassle

It probably is the norm with agents, hotels direct often take just the first night as deposit.

Sounds like this is something for the shopping list! :)

i only do airport pickups when i do my quotes....

Just re-checked all the options (picking up from the airport) before finally booking and AlamoBrits was still the cheapest for my dates. 9 days, though - could be that a flat week may have been a different story.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

don't mind paying upfront with any broker, if it works a better deal, then prepay is good with me! :):):)

    MLIFE:
Appears many players are in the same boat, reading stories where some GOLD tier players (let alone the lower tiers) are calling the VIP guest services of there go-to hotel to see if they can do any comp deals, but peeps being told to wait for Mlife offers, as nothing the hotel can do, etc......
For Ref: I had booked our JUNE comp's in the Luxor in mid January last year, so its certainly showing a lack of offers....

Up until 3 weeks ago, I had MLIFE Corp offers for 3 nights any hotel, but then it just went! (and reading on other forums, happened for many others too!). Just hotel offers remained....
I'll keep u guys posted for what I find out (for those that use mlife offers ) :)
  • Hi all - a non-Vegas question for you, but I know many of you fly a lot so may have experienced this. I travelled to Florida recently via Detroit, and despite having many years of ESTAs, my passport wouldn't work in the automated check-in kiosk things. I was sent over to a CBP agent who told me I had a green card on my file, so I wouldn't be able to use the kiosks.

I have never had a green card, which I explained to him, but he then questioned me for what felt like an age about why it's on my file (literally no idea), what I had planned, why I was on my own (I was there for work!) and made me quite anxious about my future flights.

Has this happened to anyone else? I've got a flight to Miami with my family in three months, and I'm wondering if I should contact someone to find out what the problem is as I don't want to get their trip off to a bad start. Should I email CBP or the embassy or someone, or just not worry about it?

Maverick is excellent, and if you play MyVegas you can get BOGOF flights. I did that last trip.

Thank you, I haven't been playing long enough to get the LP for the BOGOF (and I think it's currently sold out) will certainly try to get enough for the next trip.

  • Re car hire.....
For those collecting avios it's worth checking avis through avios.com - there are regular promotions for bonus avois points.
I have an Avis rental right now, booked in around October last year during one such promotion. The cost was more or less identical to rentalcars.com etc. but I'm getting a few 000 points.
  • thanks bubble! sounds like it'll be worth a trip then :)

we always like taking in a movie (don't know why, but there's something about going to the cinema in the US we like!), so will try there and have a wander round :)

It's $5.25 movies all day Tuesday!

Last time I flew into McCarran - I got told to use the kiosks as I had travelled before to the USA with my existing passport - answered all the questions then printed out a big fat X ! Had to go back in line - they only asked menial questions such as last time I had entered the country etc and was let in no problem.
To be honest their people at airports are not the most friendly but if you put up with them without answering back or trying to be sarcastic you should have no problems.
If they did not want you in the country it is likely they would have pulled you off the flight in the UK.
