open for business... happy 2017 everyone!

who's going to Vegas this year? we're booked for April :)

    We're April as well.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

    hi

and another thanks to secretmachines for his time in doing this and last years thread(and others too im sure!)

and StaffieTerrier im sure you ll love vegas !!
Im a big fan of the mgm grand, unsure if you are aware but most if not all strip hotels charge a *resort fee* which if i recall is about $33 PER NIGHT at the mgm , maybe check if it has been included in the price you ve paid.
since its a big birthday prehaps say to the check in person and well fingers crossed you may get something(no harm in trying right?:D)

I did love the pools (yes pools!!) at the mgm
Another money saving idea is just outside the grand canyon shop(about 30 seconds from the west wing of the mgm- you ll get used to the where about of things after a few days) there is a tix4tonight booth which has discounted tickets for shows for same day-same night shows(there is a big screen at the side of it showing what shows and when and the ticket prices and of course where) so saving money there.
As i mentioned above the grand canyon shop had good prices in regards beer and soft drinks !

If you (or anyone for the matter) need any pointers or advice or just general advice feel free to psot and someone will be sure to know.

    hope this helps !
    bobby

Thanks Bobby. Yes, I am aware of the resort fees (not included in our package but it was made clear when we booked through Expedia). I was planning on mentioning the birthday just in case it's worth a little something.

I saw the MGM has fantastic pools but not sure if they're open at the beginning of February. It might be a little cold

I've been an avid reader of the 2016 Vegas thread so picked up quite a lot of tips, including the tix4tonight booth. We love theatre and shows so we fully intend to make full use of that booth.

We're there for a week and planning on a trip to the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam. Are there any other must see attractions while we're there? Plus, any recommendations for cheapish breakfast places near the MGM Grand? Thank you

    hi
and your right, didn't think about the pools being closed-sorry!!

as for attractions, it all depends what you like, there are a few surgestions in the front page, I did like the vegas sign(about 20mins or so walk from the mgm) and free but not for everyone.

There is also the the high roller(i think travelzoo may have discounted tickets) , i know the tix4tonight booths did when we went, good to get some pics, we did it at night and got some pics, and we went for the drinks package.

    a few ideas also
mob museum-costs to do, i think it was around $18 each
freemont street experince- free - well worth doing, ,Its close to the mob museum- so maybe do one after the other?

the stratosphere- this is like a tower at the end of the strip- it costs, (i think there a free way but cant recall what it is!) good to get pics there too. plus there are some rides at the top(i was too scared to do them !)

hope this may help-as i said it depends what you may like!
