One of my bosses is out in Vegas same time as me in a few weeks, he asked for recommendations for a good steak....
We eat off strip, but as this guy/wife wont be driving, they need somewhere on strip so they can walk to it....

I heard good things about the steakhouse in Excalibur, any info would be cool! :) (on strip!)

Is there one in Circus Circus too that's meant to be really good, or is it just Excalibur? I've never been to either, but I must say, I was quite surprised with how nice the food was at Excalibur this year :)

I would second and third both the Steakhouse at Circus Circus and Excalibur.
CC is probably the best if I had to choose one.

Personal experience from my last visit would be either Craftsteak at the MGM, it's run by Tom Collichhio, he has the same menu at Heritage Steak in the Mirage or Gallaghers in NYNY, the steak was fabulous there and I also got a taste of the lobster due to the guy sitting next to me at the bar insisting I try some of his (He loved my accent!).

Delta flight return is the Virgin plane... as Delta merged with Virgin back in 2014, which is how I flew direct in June 2014 for £598 with Virgin by buying the ticket through Delta! :D:D

I assumed he was flying delta metal rather than just a delta ticket.

My direct flight with virgin next year is £500 :)
  • Fancy a Vegas trip in Oct and can position yourself in Shannon....

    from €282.
€287 for a sensible option on KLM via AMS. Worked on various dates when I tested it.......

Just a heads up I have been via AMS with KLM a few times, I am in the process of claiming my 3rd lot of compensation for missed departures etc.

Bumped off at the gate at AMS a couple of years ago

Took me 40 plus hours this year from Norwich to Vegas with KLM refusing compensation. I have now been paid it but had to use a claims company to get it

Would I use them again? Possibly if the price was right , but my wife says no chance!
  • Into the last few days of our trip now. Weather has been really hot again, though due to cool down tomorrow for our last day! Was a bit cloudy today, but I was glad of that as it allowed us to sit by the pool for a bit, and we even put an umbrella up today for the first time!!

We've been having fairly early nights. I've not really got into a decent sleeping pattern yet since getting here. Monday we did Mirage buffet (free myVegas). I still don't care for that buffet. The chef station guy made me some pasta which was nice enough. I wouldn't pay the full price for that buffet. Last night we had 2/1 Bellagio, after using some TR points up at Burger Brasserie. Tonight our plan is to just eat at Stir (the small plates at happy hour are nice). We can always grab a piece of pizza later if we're hungry.

Tomorrow we will have a TR buffet - Paris or PH, not quite decided yet. Never done Paris buffet as not sure if it's very veggie friendly. Will be fine for breakfast though. Tomorrow night our plan is to go to Maggiano's happy hour for flatbreads, then an early night as we're up at 4am on Friday to fly home.

What has happened to Alamos prices at Vegas. Just looked and they were 4 x more expensive than Hertz etc.

    been wondering the same thing.

I done some quotes the other day and most were around £250 but Alamo was £600, they have come down a bit since then though
  • We booked our car through Rentalcars.com and it was at Dollar at TI. I saved £30 by cancelling and rebooking a couple of days before our trip though as they had an offer on. I think we paid £150 for a week.
