  • 3 weeks until payday!

Since 6/2/17, I have not spent anything! Although, I can't really say I've had the chance!

Hubby is a pain in my £?$€ at the moment. He is off work with a herniated disc and a prolapsed disc. Which made him walk funny, cos of that his heel has inflamed (he has a heel spur near the base of his Achilles that gets aggravated) and is in eye watering pain and on crutches too, on top of that, he has had an adverse reaction to the pain killers/anti-inflammatories he is taking and is evacuating his bowels hourly! Deep Joy!

Now, don't get me wrong, I love him dearly, but....... Effin eckers. There is not enough air freshener in the world..... It's Baltic up in the NE but all my windows are open haha!

Oh, btw, his consultant said he will most likely be off work for 6-8 weeks and I have to look out for 'sceptic ankle'. Symptoms of which are high temp, ankle red and warm etc. I have taken his temp daily, and yesterday it was 37.1 (98.78) which is slightly high but not too bad considering he was tishing every 5mins. His temp is fine this morning and he is full to the brim with Imodium!

Sidney our springer spaniel has also been poorly, he was sick all over his blanket, which had to be thrown, and his tummy was off... I starved him for 24 hrs (which he loved, obviously!) and now seems to be fine. He is obsessed with licking my hubby's poorly ankle (which isn't going down too well lol).

I have kept myself busy, cleaning, washing, baking, walking Sidney, making brews etc. So the house is spotless but freezing! I have put a stew in the slow cooker this morning and am now nursing a headache (hormonal, as auntie Flo is on her way.... On the joys just keep on coming!)

We are having our granddaughter overnight on 14/2 so step-daughter and her hubby can have a nice valentines evening away. I expect my valentines will include watching kiddy films, eating McDonald's and bleeding from an orifice without dying! Woohoo!

Perryface Oh my goodness I really am sorry to read all of that. It must be awful for your husband. But wow you are really proving the sickness and in health part of your vows right now. And even the dog joining in!
And yet you are still on babysitting duty so someone else can have a nice time. You really are a great person.

Hope you get through this tough time ok.

  • Two weeks until payday!

Nsd for the last week! Go me!

Hubby is starting to become more mobile, which is good, because I am shattered!

Sidney Springer was fine after his 24 hour fast but last night his tummy troubles started again.... He hasn't eaten since last night and will have his breakfast tomorrow.... Fingers crossed he is ok. He is 2.5 yrs old but when he was 5 months old he became really sick after a walk on the field next to our house. He was rushed to the vets and they gave him a 50/50 chance of recovery, vet seemed to think he had eaten something poisonous. Stupidly, I changed his food last month (to cut costs - still high end food, just slightly cheaper) and although 90% of the time he is ok, I think his tummy is still very delicate so we will have to go back to his old expensive diet!

MIL and FIL took us out for Sunday dinner today, which was lovely. FIL is taking steroids at the moment and seems to have more energy and is putting on weight! He certainly ate enough today! lol

I have been on a bit of a downer this week. I think I said in a previous post that I have Psoriatic Arthritis (PsA), hypothyroid and low iron. Well, my weight is out of control and I don't seem to be able to do anything about it. My PsA stops me from doing any aerobic exercise which is not helping. No matter what amount I eat, my body just holds onto it, or so it seems. I contacted the GP who has referred me to the dietician so hopefully this will improve in time.

Anyway, enough of my moans. It is hubby's payday on Thursday so his o/d should reduce by a bit.... Cannot wait to update my signature!

  • We woke this morning to find Sidney and most of the house covered in blood and rushed him to the vets. He was going into shock and we were told he would not survive this catastrophic event. He went to sleep at 9.30 this morning. Rip my sweet boy xxxx
