  • Hubby o/d now £2410 hoping to get under £2000 next month.

House is really quiet and lifeless at the minute.

We have kept busy weeding the garden and cleaning the house. Unfortunately I cut myself when washing up this morning and had to go to hospital... I now have stitches and a massive dressing on my finger. Which means no cleaning, washing up or crochet for the next week.

Due to feeling sorry for myself we spent £20 today on new leggings, a gift bag, white paint, sushi and I bought a canvas to paint Sidney but can't even do that now... Hey ho...

  • Perry, I've only just found you, and I wanted to express how sorry I am about the loss of your lovely dog. You're having a horribly rough time at the moment, and it's just not fair. I hope things get better for you.

  • I just wanted to say thank you to Drawing, Armchair and especially Bob for commenting on this thread.

I really appreciate you taking the time to do that. Thank you for your condolences, I have never had to put a pet to sleep before and it may take me a while to get over it. All I can see at the moment is my pup cuddling into my neck attempting to wag his tail whilst the medicine was administered... Breaks my heart.

  • Oh Perry that is so sad, and sounds like a very traumatic way to go. A few months ago we made the difficult decision to put our little cat to sleep (heart diease) but a few days before the appointment we came home to find him by the front door where he had passed away. It is absolutely heart-breaking because you can't communicate with them and tell them how much you love them and will miss them. Just the fact that Sidney was wagging his tail proves how much he trusted you. He knew you loved him and were doing the right thing for him. And it is a painless way for him to go, so try not to worry about any suffering. I promise you, it will get easier, and it sounds like you will have some lovely memories of your little pup. Give yourself time to grieve and take care of yourself x

    Thank you for you thoughts.

The last 2 weeks have been really rough but we got through it. We are still upset but the complete meltdown seem to have lessened, well, until yesterday, when we received a card of condolence from our vet..... Yesterday was hubby's birthday so any cards that came through the post during the lead up get piled up ready for him to open on the day. Well, it was quite a shock to find one was not a birthday card at all...... Arggggh

The house is really quiet and my eyes seem to trick me sometimes, out of the corner of my eye I will see movement and think it's Our Sid, maybe it is? I dunno.

In other news - hubby and I travelled across country yesterday to celebrate our neice's 18th birthday (yes on hubbys birthday!). We gave her handmade (not by me!) hoop earrings with jet detail, she is a bit of a goth/emo type! I also painted her portrait and framed it for her - which everyone loved. I had my mum in tears when I showed her my last pic of me and Sid (taken by hubby at the vets).... But we managed to hold it together and not ruin the celebration....

How do you put photos on here?

As we were busy on hubbys birthday we are going to see Logan at the cinema on Tuesday (meerkat movies) the go for a Chinese afterwards. Once that is out of the way, I start my diet! I have hypothyroid so weightloss will be slow to non-existent, but I have to try!

Food shopping this month may be more expensive - although my nutrition nurse looked at my weekly food diary and thought it was 'OK'. However, I will be swapping toast for overnight oats and sandwiches for cous cous...... Ermmm we did somehow 'acquire' a full box of cadburys creme eggs during our lowest point last week sooooo they will have to be eaten :) or given away :( lol

Does anyone have any tips on how to make mashed potatos creamy without adding butter? Will low fat cream cheese or strained cottage cheese do it? We loves our mashed potato but it ain't the healthiest once I have finished with it!

I will update on my shopping bill later!

I hope everyone is doing fine and loving on their two legged and four legged family xxx

It is (self imposed) payday today!
