E.ON Fixed 1 Year £75 Reward

I'm on v19 ending Feb 1st. What are these tariffs? Are they v21 that are very much more expensive anyway?
Hello nick pike and, although similarly priced to version 21, our Fixed 1 Year £75 and £100 Reward tariffs are different, in that, they have the benefit of additional rewards.
They're currently being offered to selected customers who are coming to the end of Fixed 1 Year versions 18 and 19. The offer is exclusively by email to dual fuel customers only. The £75 Reward version is to customers who have been with us for 13 months to 2 years and the £100 version is for those who’ve been with us for up to 12 months.
There’s a £35 exit fee per fuel for the £75 Reward and a £50 exit fee per fuel for the £100 Reward if customers change supplier outside of their renewal period.
I posted some more information about these tariffs earlier in this thread (#12). Hope this explains.

I'd like to stay with EoN but, even as a low user, when my current tariff (fix V18) ends, I'll be paying £175 more moving to the new fixed tariff.
If I could spend the £75 somewhere I shop anyway (supermarket / petrol) it'd be equivalent to £100 more and, although I could get cheaper elsewhere, I'd have to move to companies I've either never heard of or wouldn't touch (Scottish Power).
If the voucher can only be spent at the likes of Argos and Amazon, it's worth nothing to me.
Sorry I wasn't clearer before Eric Disley. The e-vouchers I mentioned earlier (post #12) that are part of our Fixed 1 Year £75 and £100 Reward tariffs aren't limited to Argos and Amazon. They were just a couple of examples I used. The full list is Amazon, Argos, Ask/Zizzi Restaurants, B&Q, Currys, Debenhams, House of Fraser, John Lewis, Marks & Spencer, Pizza Express and Starbucks.
They don't all have to be used at once. The e-code we send can be split between multiple retailers.
Hope this is useful Eric Disley.

Had a bad time regarding smart meters. You would not fit because of gas meter ownership. Went to the ombudsman and a complete waste of time. Your site is a mess. Too complicated. Tariffs never easy to find. That seems to be industry standard so most people cannot be bothered so they end up paying too much. You give billing summaries on a page, but neglect to mention the figures do not include VAT, so when I checked there seemed to be a discrepancy of £100 which encouraged me to waste my time checking this with E-ON.
If I go to v21, the increases are a staggering 40% plus. Any comment about this from you?
Sorry nick pike but run out of time. I'll reply to this post when I'm next in on Tuesday. Didn't want to leave you hanging.

So I got the £100 offer email but the details provided are very sketchy and I have several unanswered questions ...
(1) if I accept the switch does it come into effect straight away or only after my existing V19 tariff ends?
(2) When does the offer "expire"? Can I wait till after my V19 tariff ends in Feb and still expect the £100 offer to be valid or might it be withdrawn at any time?
(3) How does the £100 voucher work? Do I actually have to buy £100 of stuff in a hurry or can I exchange for something like an Amazon gift voucher which can be spent at any time over several years?
(4) Can I subsequently switch to a different EON tariff without penalty?

This is not official, you need to get your answers from EON, but the only choice I have been told by EON is v21, which is considerably higher than v19, (40% plus increase) and the £100 voucher would not offset the £430 increase I would experience changing to v21. I think they've got a shed-full of cheek expecting customers to fall for a £100 payment, when the energy bill will increase by a lot more. Iresa are a good deal, but there are numerous cheaper than v21, so staying with EON in my opinion is a bad idea.0 -

Sorry for the late reply on this nick pike. I had already passed on your feedback about the website last week. We've done various things to reduce complications on the site and are planning more this year. Totally appreciate, this is of little use to you at the moment as you're switching away but your comments are still helpful as they'll help inform future changes so many thanks for this.
Tariffs are usually visible on the first page under 'pick a new plan.' These won't include details of things like collectives or special offers so take your point on this.
Not sure about the billing summaries. The ones on bills, annual summaries and tariff renewals all include VAT and discounts. Are you looking at something specific on your online account? If you let me know, I'll see if this needs looking at too.
With the smart meter, it sounds like your gas is through an Independent Gas Transporter (IGT). If it is, at the moment, we're not able to provide smart meters to customers whose gas is through an IGT. This is something we're working on for the future.
No meaningful comment on version 21 prices other than what I've said previously about them coming after a series of discounted tariffs that we're currently unable to offer. Our prices are business decisions taken at a much higher level than Helena and I. Whilst we're happy to talk about them and pass on feedback it's not for us to justify these decisions.
Sorry you've had such a bad time with us nick pike. If you let me know a bit more about the billing summaries, I'll be happy to look into this in more detail.

Hello prixon and sorry the email we've sent about our Reward Tariffs isn't clear. I'll try to put some flesh on the bones.
If you decide to go for this tariff, it'll start immediately after your current deal (version 19) finishes.
Whilst we can withdraw tariffs from sale at any time, once you've gone for this product, you'll still be able to go ahead even if it's taken down before your due start date.
Within 14 days of starting on the tariff, we'll email an e-code that can be exchanged for e-vouchers. Customers have 3 months to exchange their e-code for an e-voucher before it expires. Once exchanged, customers need to check with the chosen retailers how long the voucher is valid for.
As above (post #53), the e-vouchers can be used at Amazon, Argos, Ask/Zizzi Restaurants, B&Q, Currys, Debenhams, House of Fraser, John Lewis, Marks & Spencer, Pizza Express and Starbucks.
They don't all have to be used at once. The e-code we send can be split between multiple retailers.
You can switch between our tariffs at any time without penalty. Exit fees don't apply when moving from one E.ON tariff to another.
Hope I've answered your questions prixon. Let me know if you need any more information as happy to help.

These show billing summaries without VAT. No where on the page does it state whether including VAT or not. I'm only interested in the total paid so why leave off VAT, and not tell us you have done so? Unprofessional.
I told E-ON about this months ago.0 -

Why would any normal, sane person get fooled by a voucher trap for £100 when their bill is going to increase by more than this, £430 in my case?0 -
I got the email for the £75 Reward offer. I also see a website banner for £75 reward when I log in to my online account. I have been with Eon for 14 months so this seems correct as this version is to customers who have been with EON for 13 months to 2 years and the £100 version is for those who’ve been with EON for up to 12 months.
However when I click through to get a quote and enter my customer number I am offered the £100 offer. If I accept this and click confirm switch will the £100 reward be honoured?0
