I was taking the !!!! out of all the posters who seem to think that the OP should have known that because her OH works in the RAF he'll be posted after she'd booked the flights
Nobody said the OP should have known her husband would be posted after booking. One poster questioned the sense in booking longhaul tickets far in advance when you (or your travel partner) have a job where short-notice relocation is a known *possibility*. Can't say I disagree with that.0 -
Your American characteristic nature of not understanding irony depairs me too. And for you to point out your childish and useless post in reply to mine (and yes I know I'm guilty of it too and I'm sure you'll stop having your exciting life to point this out) despairs me even more.
I was taking the !!!! out of all the posters who seem to think that the OP should have known that because her OH works in the RAF he'll be posted after she'd booked the flights which to me is absolutely purile and pointless.
So I was right then - as you have confirmed, a pointless post taking the P!!! out of other posters while offering no help whatsoever to the OP.0 -

On the way home, perhaps you can ask to collect your bags at LHR and not get the internal flight to Edinburgh?0

The OP can ask but there's no guarantee that the agent will agree to do it. BA is well aware of hidden city ticketing and are taking steps to prevent it.0 -

Earlier this year I took an inter-continental flight on BA to MAN via LHR. No problem at all about checking my bags to LHR, where I collected them and did not take the final sector.0 -
There are however reports on BA tightening up on this. (I've done it myself in the past but I've seen enough reports recently that I wouldn't do it again now)I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

I didn't say it couldn't be done, I said there was no guarantee it would be done.0 -
A few years ago we bought tickets Man to Tampa Via Chicago return.
Daughter & boyfriend decided the wanted to New York so they bought one way ticket Tampa - NYC - Chicago.
We had absolutely no idea about using the tickets in order. It is buried in the T & C's Paragraph 3C2. There 19 paragraphs with loads of sub paragraphs
By pure luck I phoned them up asking if I could use their baggage allowance for the Tampa to Chicago leg.
That is how I found out about the in order bit
Luckily for us the agreed to change the ticket at no charge.
I would write saying at the time of the booking stationed in Edinburgh RAF posted us way before they should havePrivate Parking Tickets - Make sure you put your Subject Access Request in after 25th May 2018 - It's free & ask for everything, don't forget the DVLA0
