hi all, no 38 here, August was unfortunately hugely expensive with the car and the house both needing maintenance and repairs, plus there were dental costs, so I have nothing to report for this month I'm afraid - hope to be back on track for September. :(

    Hi all,

Number 47 reporting in for August.

August was a good month with savings totalling £730.93 which I think is the biggest savings month so far. Very surprised but the forum is certainly keeping me honest!

This month I have the service charge on my flat to pay. That'll use the savings I've gathered for it but still a large chunk. Hopefully will still be positive next month!

    Hi all,

I have just got back from the trip of a lifetime. Hubby and I went off to Canada for three weeks. We saw polar bears, Beluga whales and the Northern Lights. We also walked on a glacier and had lunch at the top of the CN tower. I am sure that you are not surprised that I have not been able to save anything for the months of August and September.

I now have to get my head back into the saving mode for the rest of the year.

Hope you are all having a good month.

  • I think I forgot to update last month so here are my last 2 updates:

    July - £1,102
    August - £2,947

This now brings me to £9,901 for the year which has blown me away as I only set my target for £6,000 for the whole year :j:j:j

I have changed my target to £12,000 the same as I did last year but am really hoping to smash that also as I am already almost at £10,000 and have 4 months worth of updates left.

Loving this thread as it gives me so much inspiration to keep going. :T

Can we change our target? I've almost reached my £9k one, I was too chicken to go for £12k in the first place!
