The "Save 12k in 2017" Thread!

Morning everyone. £160 added to the pot for January that was interest from my Nationwide regular saver. I have opened another one now too.

One elderly cat cost that Wentthedaywell - scans, Xrays, 7 nights in a deluxe suite topped up the bill. And she's not out of the woods yet poor thing. I'm just looking forward to the Clubcard points. Well you have to be positive.
I've been meal planning to save money (I have three freezers I'm a keen grow your own fan) and after auditing one of the freezers I see I can get through January without buying much - just a few fresh salad things. I'm only shopping with a list and comparing prices. So the belt will be firmly pulled in and I'll make a little saving.
I also have a birthday this month and will be celebrating with a nice hotel stay - fortunately that's all paid for. And Brewers fair have offered me a free meal - so that's me sorted.
On the birthday wish list is a membership to the National Trust or English Heritage (can't decide which) and want to focus on walking activities this year - so they will all be free trips out for me for the year hopefully - entrance fee to these placed can be extortionate!
I'm also on the 'No clutter to be seen' thread - I'm hoping to sell some of the things and add to my savings.
I'll keep you all up to date with any other savings I make.

Had a HARD look at my AVE wage/budget/saving/investment

1.-dropping my investment to 2k 2017,move it back up 6k 2018

2.-my bank balance slightly o/d,so building it up to 5k(use as my emergency fund)

3.-once bank balance has hit target-up investment/savings

4.-budget under control -no need for holiday/loans/bank balance debt

Hi All,
So after getting an unexpected pay rise in December and lots of freelance work in January the first month of the year is looking really positive.
January was my highest saving month last year and hoping it will be a big number. Waiting on some delayed payments too so can't wait to get it all in the pot!!!

I'm so excited with be part of this and have set up an M&S linked savings account and filled it this month plus hope to open an Santander one 3% one for £200. I'll also have a FD regular saver to top up but I still need somewhere to save the other £250 if I'm to meet my £12k target.

I'll update the spreadsheet when it's all done and enjoy reading everyone else's stories.

And I am off the starting post. £500 into regular saver (KR).
Another £500 went into Nationwide RS but I had to draw on my Nationwide ISA so I am not going to count it.

Do Santander do a regular saver for £300 a month? I thought it was just £200 unless it changed!!
