I don't think £12k is possible for me, but I like the idea of this. I will aim for £6k, even though even that I think I will struggle with. It'll mean £500 per month basically? I will either have to get more frugal or get a raise, but I like a challenge, and just the act of trying should be a learning experience.
  • put me down for £4000 please.
  • Sign me up for £12k please! Last year's thread was a great motivator for the first half of the year. Let's kickstart 2017 :-D

I include interest and dividends (only tiny amounts though) in my figures, so I'm sure you could continue if you felt like it ArmyDillo?
    Err, thanks.
I'm still not sure though and if I did, it would completely change the figures I've reported this year.
If I were to declare interest and dividends it would add another £70k on 2016's figures.
Not expecting that next year though unfortunately (for all of us).
Anticipating some level of loss next year but can't quantify it yet.

I would like to join please. I am hoping to save £10k :)
  • So, the title is pretty self explanatory, but this is the place to be in 2017 :D
In 2017, the aim is to save £12k (or, any other amount if you like!) from 1st January 2017 til 31st December 2017. I know it's early, but it gives you the time to plan for how you are going to do it!

    RULES:

    - This challenge starts on 1st January 2017 00:00 and finishes on 31st December 2017 23:59.
    - Everything saved MUST be done between these two dates.
    - Any interest gained during this challenge on your savings can be counted!

Feel free to sign up :D but, please only sign up if you intend to go the distance - the thread tends to start off great and then people disappear :(
