  • Hi all

Please put me down for £6,000. I've never done this before and it will be a stretch but I would like to do this to build a sum to offset against my mortgage.

Does my £100/month saving for holidays count? I'll be spending it in August 2017 though....

Hello! I would like to join in with this challenge. I don't earn enough for me to save £12000 but I should be able to save £6000.
  • Don't think I qualify under the rules anymore.
Any income I receive now will be from savings already made, growth, interest, or dividends.
Worse; I don't expect my savings to start rising again until 2020 after a few years reduction as I took early retirement.

    *sigh.

I'll be back to report £1M in 2026.
    ;)
    2016 : Realised £103,000.00 savings (banked)
    2017 : Realised £97,000.00 savings (banked)
    2018 : Realised £ savings (banked)

20.4% avg annual portfolio growth since 2004.

Retired 17:30 hrs, Friday 30th September 2016, aged 56, and luvvin' it!!

I include interest and dividends (only tiny amounts though) in my figures, so I'm sure you could continue if you felt like it ArmyDillo?

In my savings i include net of any interest as well. You could join as well just for general interest to see what post-retirement savings is like with your portfolio and also how reliable any possible savings is. Always happy to know of another case study.
