Hello everyone, been very busy so not much time to get on here. Hope you all had a lovely christmas
i have some news, some ins, and some outs.
First the news... Following my issues with my job due to disability discrinination, acas didnt get anywhere and basically its that i accept the job i cant physically do or i have to leave. They have done the absolute minumum and apparently they can get away with it. I can take them to tribunal but unfortunately we dont have the money to do so. I have had so many interviews that ive been having 2 or 3 a day. Aaand the news.. its paid off!!!!! Christmas eve i found out ive been offered a new job working for the council in business support, to start in january, 30 hours a week and they arent bothered about my disability. So relieved and cannot wait to start!!!
Then i have ins to report, some christmas presents and some sale items.

Soft & gentle rose & vanilla roll on deodorant
I also have some bits on the way that i ordered with christmas money so ill declare once those arrive.
UU:
Ghost original eau de toilette 30ml- WBA and recieved more this christmas. My absolute favourite perfume at the moment. Smells gorgeous.
Lush snow fairy shower gel sample- WBA and already have more stashed and in use. Love the smell of this and one i keep going back to. Perfect consistency, lathers well, lingers on the skin and smells so good.
Wilko dark plum & sugared rose roll on deodorant- WBA a favourite of mine. I love the smell, its a good price and does the job well.
I love... Cherry almond sparkle shower gel 100ml- WMBA this smelled nice but became a bit sickly for me in the end. Didnt linger on the skin but lathered up well. I prefer lush but have more in stash and will use again.
Lush five o clock whistle shaving soap sample- WBA as full size, really liked the scent of this and did the job well.
Sensodyne extra fresh complete protection toothpaste- WMBA did the job but i do find the repair & protect one seems to work a lot better. This was a good price on offer though so may re purchase.
Medex fruity fresh mouthwash- WBA HG bargain price and does the job really well. Tastes really pleasant too.
Boots essentials fragrance free facial wash- WMBA did the job but i do prefer scented products.
Lush roller bath bomb- WBA althugh this one was a sinker! It was from the most recent batch and lots of people seem to have had sinkers. I have more stashed that are older and some japanese ones so ill be interested to see how they do in comparison. Nevertheless this smells amazing and the water was a pretty purple colour. Ill re purchase for the smell alone! No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2015/2016/2017/2018

Congrats on your job Gemzie, from what I see Councils are pretty good to people with disabilities so hopefully you will be fine now. One more UU here Gok Bath Foam, think this is about 3 years old but was still fineDebt free and busy treating myself:)
No more toiletries/make up until I've used what I've got stashed since Jan 2011, graduated October 2012. Restocked Dec 13..damn those sales0 -
Congratulations Gemzie. Sorry to hear about the problems with your old job.
Dolly - Yes am feeling really positive about my no buy. I am fed up of wasting my money and having so much stuff! I blame YouTube!!0 -
Congratulations Gemzie, that's amazing news!
It's a shame you got treated so badly by your old place, but the best thing to do now is put it behind you - forget about them, you've got an awesome start to the new year to look forward to :T
Ok, a few more UUs before the end of the year, yay!
- Sachet Elemis Dynamic resurfacing night cream. WNB. Nice, but I prefer either Alpha-H at night, or a normal cream.
- Elemis PCMC 15ml tube. WBA. This is interesting, I do really like PCMC, I think it's excellent, and always happily use it, but I'm not sure it's a true HG. But I've got plenty of it, and do think it's great value when on offer. So I'll keep going
- Sass Intimate Purifying cleanser. WNB. Just nothing special.
- Roger&Gallet Le Soin Aura Mirablis Double Extract mini face oil/serum. WNB. Too oily, didn't sink in well.
- Elemis bath oil
- L'Occitane rosemary bath cube
I wanted to grab some Lush stuff in the sales, as I'm out of bubbly bath stuff now, but couldn't get through online, and there was nothing left in my local store yesterday. Oh well.
So, my final in's from the sales, pressies, and xmas money spending look like this
Got a bunch of Elemis stuff myself with some xmas money (total cost was £71.50), just arrived this morning!
- Visible Difference eye collection (I've wanted this for ages, I love their eye cream) including- Pro-Collagen Advanced Eye Treatment 15ml
- Pro-Collagen Eye Renewal 15ml
- Pro-Radiance Illuminating Eye Balm 4ml
- Sweet Orchid Shower Cream 50ml
- Sweet Orchid Monoi Body Oil 35ml
- Frangipani Monoi Shower Cream 50ml
- Frangipani Monoi Body Oil 35ml
And as a freebie I then chose a 10ml sample of their Dynamic resurfacing serum, which is worth almost £30 on it's own! Plus an extra little sachet of hand cream.
My sister then also gave me some Laura Gellar stuff that doesn't suit her:
- Full size Balance and Brighten in Medium with brush. It's too dark for her, and actually slightly too dark for me at the moment, but that should change soon. I'm REALLY impressed with this so far.
- and a blush, which I've not really tried yet, but does look nice.
My advent calendar stuff is also all put away in the cupboards now. So my cupboard is now pretty full again - no more shopping needed or allowed for aaaaaages! :O But it's still not as bad as it used to be, phew.0 -
I got my sales bits today so ins as follows:
Korres Almond Cherry Shower Gel 250ml
Korres Almond Cherry Body Milk 200ml
Korres Absolute Japanese Rose Shower Gel 250ml
Korres Absolute Japanese Rose Body Milk 200ml
Korres Absolute Japanese Rose Hand Cream 75ml
Champneys Bubble Heaven Well Earned Rest 300ml
Champneys Bubble Heaven Well Earned Treat 300ml
Champneys Bubble Heaven As good as New 300ml
Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Finally a UU:
Vaseline Intensive Care Healthy Hands Stronger Nails hand cream WMBA. It was alright, did the job, if I was in dire need and it was one of the only options, I'd buy it again. I've now moved onto one of the hand creams I received for Christmas
Ah, that's my Christmas job finished. It was the last day yesterday. So tonight I'm going to have a nice bath to relax and use a bath bomb and a bubble bar.0 -
Hi all! Hope everyone had a great Christmas! Mine was a bit of a washout but never mind.
Congratulations Gemzie!! I'm so pleased your hard work has paid off. And even though your old place of work treated you so badly I hope it's easier to move on now you have a new start to look forward to. :T Well done you!
I've been stuck at home basically since Christmas Day. Today I did a full stash count. I knew it would go up from presents and sales INs but it's gone up by more than that. Some of it is due to counting things I didn't count before (eg setting sprays) but it still doesn't add up. I don't know if I undercounted last year or overcounted this year but I can't face the idea of doing it all again so I'm sticking with it for now. So my new total is 514.
I was quite depressed immediately after Christmas and because I was stuck at home, I got sucked in to the online sales. I bought stuff I didn't need because I was depressed then got really anxious that it was all going to arrive. Anyone else familiar with this vicious circle?! Some arrived today (Lush and Body Shop). The Body Shop stuff I am fine about because it's stuff I really like, don't have currently and was super cheap (40% off the 50% off sale). The Lush stuff I am really annoyed at myself about because they were all extras of things I already have. Rather than faff about with returning it, I went through my whole stash and have stuck a load on eBay as it is all stuff that is now sold out so I'm hoping people will be looking for it, especially after the annual debacle of their online Boxing Day sale.
I feel like I'm having a bit of an epiphany about Lush. I only got into it relatively recently and I went in full steam. Going through the stash made me realise that while there are some things I absolutely love like Rose Jam and anything scented with Olive Branch or Grass, there are plenty of other things I think are just ok and others I actively dislike. Also, of all the toiletry presents I got, the ones I was most pleased about were some Sanctuary Spa bits I wasn't expecting. I really love that fragrance and they don't go off like Lush stuff can. I'm also cutting down on bath bombs because I actually prefer to have a bubble bath so what's the point of a bomb when I add foam anyway?!
I have banned myself from any more online sales shopping, toiletry-wise. The only things I will allow myself to buy in the physical shop sales are some more Sanctuary bits - so much cheaper to get gift sets in the sale than buy individually - and if I happen to see a Molton Brown gift set of minis. There is only one department store near me that sells it though so if it's not there, I suppose I'm just not meant to have it this year! They are the things I had always planned to get in the sales so I'm fine about buying them if I see them.
I don't have any other toiletry orders to arrive (I don't think!) but I do have a Cath Kidston order coming with a bag I have resisted for about 18 months because I was waiting for it to go in the sales. If I can resist that for so long, why can't I resist Lush? It's daft and I am going to change it. And a bag is something I can be pleased to look at and use every day, not something that ends up down the drain.
Sorry for the rant! I'm not one for specific resolutions but I suppose all of the above kind of signifies a new way of approaching things.
I hope everyone is enjoying their pressies. Looks like you all got some lovely bits!0
