No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries December 2016

I don't get the whole Lush thing. There is now way I would jump through hoops to give them my money.
I got a huge Bayliss & Harding gift set from my MIL for Christmas, this was my only toiletry in but they have gone straight into the charity bag to drop off when they re-open. B&H stuff is total rubbish imo.
Hahaha! Naughty! :rotfl:
But to be honest, i couldn't agree more. I got some Bayliss & Harding stuff a couple of christmases back and it was horrible. The packaging is cheap and tacky and the product itself smells very synthetic and any of the body creams/lotions take an absolute age to actually rub into your skin...0 -
resisting sales by deleting all e-mails as they arrive in my in-box:D
I never really got the Lush thing either:D, when I used to have quite bad eczema I found 3 or so products that were great to use, and loved angels on bareskin, but hated all the over perfumed things and there were only a couple of soaps that did not strip my skin:(
Christmas INs, either bought with money gift or chosen by me.
35ml Pixi H2O Skintint No1 cream 4/87
Pixi Mesmerising Mineral Palette Opal Glow 5/88
Pixi Lipstick Rose Naturelle 6/89
250ml Pixi Glow Tonic 7/90
30ml Pestle & Mortar Superstar Retinol Night Oil 8/91
30ml Pestle & Mortar Superstar Retinol Night Oil Free gift from P&M 9/92 ***
2 x 3ml Pestle & Mortar Hydrate 10 & 11/93&94
*** Pestle & Mortar duplicated my order, when I notified them they told me to keep it as an early Christmas present from them, will certainly buy again from them, it was a generous gift:D:DThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
Progress is really slow this month. The only things I'm near finishing is a hand cream and two hand sanitises, and only if I keep remembering to use them. At least with all the hand cream I got for Christmas, I don't have to buy any for a while0
-
i always feel that a lot of these christmas brand gift sets'- the ones that appear before christmas are not great and have higher profit margins for retailers to promote. I know people buying gifts often know little about cosmetics and are easily persuaded to buy higher profit margin lines. I try to buy products that at least are available widely through out the year.
used up shampoo.
grapefruit soap in
I started with two big plastic boxes of extras to be used. it is steadily declining with each month.0 -

Hi all.
I have some uu's
Gatineau Instant Smoothing Cream 15ml - This is a gel cream and glides on really well then the horror starts, it rolls up on the skin like nothing else I've ever used, it looks like peeling skin. It does it when used on clean skin at night with nothing else too. I used it up as foot cream. WNB
Rimmel Instant Radiance Shimmer Touch in Radiant Rose - this is a very, very glittery pink highlight/blush. Too glittery to use so I have TA.
Rimmel Instant Radiance Shimmer Touch in Sand - as above.
Very cross with myself about the last two, I like to wear a bit of glitter eyeshadow occasionaly but glitter on the face isn't really a good look for anyone out of their teens so I have to stop buying it.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

One UU:
Lush Love and Light hand cream sample WNB. Ugh, this smells way too floral for me. Blegh.0 -
Went to the Trafford centre today to exchange a MAC mascara. Bought Emma a kit containing this, a paint pot, eyeshadow and eyeliner. The mascara wand was bent. They exchanged it with no trouble.
I also bought:-
Urban Decay lipgloss called Kinky. The first that I have tried that actually looks nude without being overly glossy. Love it.
Cup o Coffee from LUSH. HG and present pot is almost gone (thanks to Emma being home).
From Boots I got 2 x Extracts Festive House sets and 2 x trio of Soap and Glory body butters. All half price. AP reclaimed for one set. One set each for Emma and I. Boots had so much stock left! Have my eye on a Real Techniques brush set for the 75% off sale.
I also bought a wall calendar for work (the Ladybird for adults one), some Christmas cards, gift wrap and a pair of slippers for MRM. I did get him some for Xmas but they don't fit.
Tomorrow we need to go shopping for a new cooker as the thermostat seems to have gone in ours.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge.
