I've also seen a Ford Capri this week driving through Sheffield.

Today I saw an H Reg Ford Fiesta MK3, most of these rotted away years ago, including my old one.

One of my neighbours has a G reg Vauxhall Nova. I always smile when I see it as the first car I owned, 20 years ago, was a G reg Vauxhall Nova and his is the same colour as mine was. I am amazed it is still going though. When I disposed of mine I had spent a fortune keeping it alive and it was starting to rust quite badly.

Yesterday I saw an E reg Ford Orion in the shopping centre car park. This also made me smile as my dad's work used to provide these as company cars back in the 1980s and I remember the excitement every couple of years when he got a new one.

Neither of these cars look like they're hobby cars. My neighbour uses the Nova as his normal car to go to work and the supermarket. The Orion looked like it was used as a normal family car.

My next door neighbour has an immaculate R reg Peugeot 106, he's had it from new, now passed on to his daughter who is learning to drive.

That's the end of that 106 then :D

I think the line is God Bless Hooky Street - "Hooky" meaning dodgy... and of course the Trotter's van was not a Robin but the earlier Regal Supervan. Last Reliant I saw was a Scimitar on a 72 L plate in Fitzrovia last month.
I need to think of something new here...

The older 'noddy' Nissan Micras (mid-nineties? to 2002) seem to go on for ever; you see loads of them around.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.
  • Two Escorts (a 'P' and an 'X') parked just around the corner from my house.

A local dealer currently has a 1990 'G' Bluebird 1.6 for sale. Presumably a trade in for which he gave next to nothing. It has 100k on it and has done a steady 1k a year for the last ten years. He's got it up at £995 but I'm guessing it could be had for a fair bit less.

  • I regularly see an orange coloured Morris Marina on my way to work in Sheffield.

It's a bit of a shed but obviously still going strong :)
  • I was running a 17 year old (P Reg) Pug 306 until about 18 months ago. I sold it on Ebay for a couple of hundred quid, as far as I know it is still going. It was fine apart from the exhaust had fallen off!

Current car is only 12 years old, Ford Cmax.
