Any new portfolio presumably has to be pretty quick as the amount of departures increase from a trickle to a surge.
Afternoon superbigal36.
Our Fixed 1 Year version 19 tariff was available for sale/switching from 22 January 16 to 9 February 16.
For an existing customer switching to this product during the above window, the latest they could be on it is 8 February 17. This assumes they made the change on 9 February 16. This could be longer if they delayed the switch using the forward switching tool on our website (up to 52 days). Could be up to the end of March 17.
For customers changing supplier where the request to move was accepted on 9 February 16. We would've started supplying about two and half weeks later so they could be on this tariff up to around 3 March 17.
Hope this is of interest.

As a V19 customer I will be off to pastures new soon unless we get a more competitive tariff from Eon very quickly after Christmas. There are a number of things I like about Eon; Customer service has improved in the last couple of years, website is good and Tesco points are attractive as long as tariffs are competitive. The things I dislike include the protracted issue of announcing new tariffs, the lack of a current competitive fixed tariff and not winning a decent prize on the wheel of fortune (although I reserve the right to change my mind on the last point if I win the £1500)!
Have a great Christmas Eon team and all contributors to this thread.0 -
Many thanks Blackdog and the same to you. Have a great Christmas and New Year. :xmastree:
Glad you like our recent service, website and Rewards but take your point on the tariffs.
Sorry you haven't won a prize on Spin the Wheel but fingers crossed for the £1500. You can spin once a day every day up until 8 January 17. The more times you have a go, the more chances of winning the big one. Good luck.

I am on the V19 tariff and like most on the Eon threads very disappointed because of no competitive Eon alternative. I have gotten used to and quite like the Eon online system. However, competitive tariff rates are also important. Unless a competitive rate comes out soon, I will unfortunately be transferring my supply.
I don't understand Eon's business logic here. They are obviously set to lose a significant swathe of customers. Have the number crunchers worked out that it is more cost effective to do this due to the inertia of a significant proportion of their customers?
Is it the case that once I initiate a transfer the V19 tariff will remain on my account until the transfer is completed even though this is beyond the end of contract date, which in my case is 7 February0 -
Just to say I'm off to Flow Energy shortly. Hope their customer service is as good as Eon however, with a £328 year saving I really can't turn that down. Would have happily stayed with Eon if they were in any way competitive.
Just like to say Happy Xmas to Malc and Helena who have always answered questions and queries quickly and helpfully, and have of course had to take an awful lot of stick these last few months during Eon's decline. I say decline, because that's how I see it.
Happy Xmas of course to everyone else on the board.

Hello Leblanc and sorry to lose you.
Provided the new supplier contacts us and asks to take the account during the Price Protection window, we'll keep you on the cheaper prices even if the switch completes after the tariff end date. Exit fees also don't apply when inside the window.
The Price Protection window is open 49 calendar days before the tariff end date until 20 working days after. As your tariff ends on 7 February 17, you'll be inside the window now. Switches usually take about two and half weeks to go through.
Hope this explains Leblanc and all the best for the New Year.

We are also leaving eon. Changing to the v21 would cost us over £300 extra a year !!!:mad: Switch has already startedSave 12K in 2020. Number 130

Unfortunately I'm also moving from v19, just signed up for the switch so 14 days for e.on to come up with a better tariff. TBF I don't see it happening.
At the moment the new tariff I have signed up for will cost 15% more than v19, v21 would have cost 30% more.0 -
This is another part of our ongoing product review as we look to invest in tariffs more suited to our customer's needs. We're looking to take lessons from this trial to better understand the appeal of things like Rewards and Price Alerts. Although we realise these tariffs and offers won't interest everyone, we're looking at the wider impact across our entire customer base. It's all a bit experimental at the moment and will become clearer next year.
Hopefully more positive news in the New Year.
Malc
Hi Malc,
Around 20 million energy customers (mainly with large suppliers) in Britain are on ‘standard variable’ rate tariffs. A staggering 73% of E.on's customers are on a Standard Variable Rate Tariff. That is, without question, the majority of E.on's entire customer base.
There is clearly little incentive for E.on to change their business plan. The Mse "switchers" or followers of the energy forum, are clearly the minority of overall energy consumers, (probably 1% or 2%) of energy consumers.
I don't expect to see major positive changes to E.on's tariffs next year, and only a complete withdrawal of "rewards" as I predicted, earlier this year.
I personally think next winter will be a telling time for all energy suppliers, particularly the "Big Six" as there is "no reason” for the Big Six energy giants to raise their standard variable tariffs this winter, because their hedging strategies should insulate them from rising wholesale prices. But next winter it's predicted rising wholesale costs are likely to feed through, combined with increased green levies, making price rises likely. Electricity price rises of up to 10pc before winter 2017-18 seem highly likely.
I've no reason to complain, right now. I'm "protected" from next winters likely rises in price, too. At the same time, i realise the "good times" we've had recently, are now over for the foreseeable future. The prices I'm paying for my energy currently, are less than I've been paying for the last 5 years (and the rest.) I know that when my current tariff ends, I'm going to be paying considerably (£100's) more for my energy, regardless of whatever energy supplier i choose, (not just E.on.) That's the reality of the energy situation in today's economic market.
I'd like to wish you and Helena, all the staff at MSE, and the people who make MSE what it is - all the people who view the MSE forums - A very happy and (energy) prosperous New Year. :xmastree::santa2:Fred - Where's your get up and go?
Barney - It just got up and went.
