How much would EU citizenship be worth to you?

Exactly EUR 80.
Price of an Irish passport.0 -
Nothing at all. I'm perfectly happy, isolated in little englandI bet that'd change after the first time they try and go on holiday.
Despite my wife being married to an EU citizen we still have to pay for the Schengen visa's. You can try and argue the toss at passport control but it's not guaranteed that they'll let my wife in on the basis that she's a spouse of an EU citizen, despite EU law saying they have to.
We've been buying Schengen visa's for years, it's not difficult, or expensive.
The pro-EU argument that you'll need a visa for a holiday in the EU is a poor one.0 -

I don't see what the issue is then. People have moved around Europe for decades.0 -

I was going to wait until the poll finished and point out pretty much the same thing, that those for remain who take this stance clearly don't want to pay what they currently do pay via taxation since it's a load more than £100 a year!
(at the time of writing only 5 would pay £100 and 1 would pay £1000 with 10 saying it wouldn't interest them at all)
As with the legal challenges, all these hysterical remoaners put nothing towards the effort, and those that did in the main were a tiny number, so much for being central to their very being.
A bunch of American celebs promised they would move to Canada if Trump got elected, and now they are getting loads of stick as they have already gone back on it.0 -
£100 per yearOh, heyalp, heyalp, it's sooooo hard to go on holiday to non-EU nations, and now equally hard to holiday in Europe, lol
Which might have some basis, if it were not for the fact that most holidays made by UK citizens are in the EU (ignoring staycations). Anyone under about 50 will not remember holidaying in Europe without the EU benefits, and lots will suddenly notice it get a lot harder.
But travelling to the EU becoming exactly as hard as travelling outwith the EU is the problem; it's much easier to travel to the EU (for now).0 -
What about the responsibilities? Liability for EU taxes? Double liability for tax on UK income? EU military service?
Anyway, the EU without the UK is 435 million people approx. The Commonwealth is 2,328 million people; almost all Commonwealth countries speak English as a first or second language.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
Some of our brexiteering friends are getting a bit confused, unsurprisingly.
The thread and poll is not about travel visas, peeps.Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0 -

Have you ever tried holidaying outside of the EU? You should try it some time. I assure you that the world doesn't begin and end at the borders of the EU and there are some wonderful countries to visit.
I really don't envisage that it would be any harder to visit an EU country than it would be to visit India, Sri Lanka, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, USA, Australia etc. Tourists visit these countries all of the time without any real hassle which I don't think would be significantly easier by paying extra for associate citizenship and an ID card."When the people fear the government there is tyranny, when the government fears the people there is liberty." - Thomas Jefferson0 -

What else could it be?
If there's a company in the EU that wants your services that the native population couldn't supply then it'll work in much the same way that non-EU citizens come to the UK now, well, for employment visa's anyway.
It'll be dished out on merit - not an entitlement.0
