CO-OP ENERGY have been appointed by OFGEM to support the GB ENERGY accounts

This might explain why they are now showing as the cheapest Feb 18 dual fuel deal for me. Clearly, they are hoping that the bulk of the SoLR customers will stay.

  • Have only just found out about this when trying to log in with my meter readings!

The website "no longer trading message" was posted on Saturday 26/11/2016.

I received an email from them (Phil Darwick, Operations Manager) yesterday morning (28/11) at 7.01am asking me to provide meter readings.

They took the direct debit out yesterday (28/11) too.

I was going to move after having been sent an email in October stating that they were increasing my payments.

Have yet to work out the figures from when I joined in May (both gas and electricity). Could really do without all this, at this present time.

Wonder which beach Mr. Watson and Mr. Darwick will be spending Christmas on?

My research shows Robin Hood Energy to be a not for profit company of Nottingham City Council. So prepared to take my chances.

    Robin Hood Energy Limited
Loxley House Station Street, Nottingham, NG2 3NG,
    Status ACTIVE
    Type Other
    Cash £0
    Total Assets £656,756
    Liabilities £-1,369,326
    Net Worth £-712,570

Not for profit indeed! They must be limited by guarantee or something similar. I am sure you are right and that they are quite pukkah - it looks like a lot of the directors originally involved set up a shell company incorporating the right to trade in electricity. They have dozens of them with very flowery names, just waiting to become new providers...I am surprised to say the least that this is all so poorly regulated. Some of the people owed credit by GB simply won't have 'other' means to pay their bill now, having thought their overpayments would cover them no matter how hard the winter.

Yes came up as cheapest dual fuel for me. But as I only had electricity with GB I didn't want to confuse things by switching to a dual fuel. However if it is Co-op - I may well use my right to cooling off and stay put. Then switch both to their dual fuel once sorted.

The way I interpret the message it seems that Co-op are planning to honour the current tariffs?

Nightmare! And we were all brought up to think that you just put the plug in the socket and out came electricity! Good luck.

  • If the price is the same then this would have panned out as good as it could have done. Fingers crossed.

That's definitely what the recorded message says - of course it doesn't say for how long. It says they will be contacting all customers during the next few days.

  • If my DD goes out on the first, who is getting it and is anyone keeping a record of it?

I have just started looking around for potential new electric suppliers following GB energy going out of business. A key factor on comparison websites is knowing your consumption. As I can no longer access my statements via the GBenergy website how am I now going to be able to notify my consumption accurately?

Can you not contact the supplier who you switched to GB from and ask them what your final meter reading was and then subtract this from your latest reading?
