I have just been checking present and previous directors of GBE using Companycheck. One guy who has consistently been tied up with Luke Watson et al is Steven Paul Gosling, who has 30 Active, 118 Resigned and 8 Closed directorships. He has also been involved with Robin Hood Energy. He has loads of active directorships in energy companies but I suggest you look back over his entire history and do a bit of cross-referencing.

    Just sayin'.

My research shows Robin Hood Energy to be a not for profit company of Nottingham City Council. So prepared to take my chances.

You could try calling your bank to see if they can do anything about the DD taken yesterday.

I have claimed it back and they will credit my account, however if they do not recover the money from GB Energy and deem that they have not made any error then they reserve the right to take back the money. Nationwide were not at fault the payment was always scheduled for 25 November so was set up correctly. It was just with the weekend that it physically left the account on Monday. I am not holding much hope of them getting the money back from GB Energy.

Been watching this thread since it started,i canx my dd & daughters (both with GBE) on Saturday night,i'm about breakeven & my daughter about £28 in credit up to Saturday when it all went pear shaped having only joined them 14/15Oct 16,decide to try to join Iresa both myself & daughter applied separately & so far been accepted by Iresa (order acknowledgement & contract info)this being the best for us & not listed in the search on Cheap Energy Club (CEC) & just a tad more expensive than GBE they req'd bank details to set up dd & emails state dd to leave bank by 14/12 & we'll be with them fully 29/12,so far so good but early days
If anyone's unsure about there usage if there signed up to CEC go your edit page for your details & you'll probably find your usage there assuming you inputted the correct amount to find a comparison.

I that's true then i'm switching now as they seem to have very poor IT systems and high complaints.

I know someone who works for co-op energy and based on what they've told me their IT problems have now been sorted and they've got big expansion plans. This is a big vote of confidence in them from OFGEM.

An extra 160,000 for a start.

Any news on the emergency tariff etc

I can imagine that Ofgen were between a rock & a hard place. Did they go for the best price tariff offered on choose the provider based on other merits - which I doubt that they had the information to do. My guess is that this is simply price based.
