Creation card - balance payment question

A couple of days ago I used my Creation card - and my frst credit card ever - for the first time - by withdrawing £10 from an ATM.

Today it showed in my balance. I clicked "Make a payment" to clear it. This took me to a debit card payment form (which seemed to be the only payment option). I entered my debit card details and made a payment of £10. It said the transaction was successful.

However, when I open my dashboard, the balance is still showing as £10 and the debit card payment is not showing on my list of transactions. It looks like the payment didn't go through.

Or is it that they normally show with a delay? I wouldn't have expected a delay with a debit card payment as those are normally instanteneous.

I'm not sure if my debit card (from Barclays) was charged or not as those don't show on statements until a few days later.

I tried contacting Creation, but gave up after waiting in the queue for 40 minutes :(

I then messaged them using the web message form, which they say may take 5 days to get a response from.

My payment is due 28 November and I don't want to find out I missed it. Is what happened to me normal with Creation?

I don't know about creation payaments but

your payment of the STATEMENT balance may well be due by 28th November (presumably zero from what you have said)
there is no way your £10 cash withdrawal is due by the 28th of november

what exactly does your statement say?

and do avoid cash withdrawls as these incur interest and adversely affect your credit files if done regularly

The statement only has one item: the ATM withdrawal of £10.

The only purpose I took out this card is cash withdrawals abroad (no fees and no load charge), and this withdrawal (in the UK) was only a test to see how it works and whether everything's ok with my card as I'm going to Central America in less than 2 weeks.

I wouldn't make a habit of using it for cash advances.

the debit card payment will take a few days to go through.

In future maybe a DD for the full amount would be better as they will apply for the payment in time for the due date or a faster payment from your bank to their sort code and account number. (for the FP option, check how many days from sending until being shown on your account, some do next working day, some a little longer)

Have you checked your Barclays bank account to see if the payment is pending? It may be. (just to give yourself some reassurance)

Is this the statement displaying a minimum amount due by xx

    or

is this your online list of transactions.

due date is normally approx 21-25 days after statement date.

Dobbibill, I would have thought the debit card payment would have cleared the balance immediately as debit card payments are normally instantenous (as opposed to, say, bank transfers). When I book, say, a flight, using my debit card, the payment is instanteous. It doesn't tell me "Please wait up to 5 days, once we've received your payment we'll send you a confirmation of your booking." I get a confirmation straight away. So I don't see why it would be different here.

I may have used the term Statement wrongly. I have no statements as of yet.

    On my dashboard it says:
Next payment date: 28 Nov 2016
    Minimum payment: £0.00

And the £10 withdrawal is on the list of recent transactions.

In any case I'd like to clear the balance as quickly as possible as cash advances are supposed to incur daily interest from the day they were made or billed (not exactly sure which?).
For the same reason I don't want to rely on Direct Debits as those would clear my balance with a month delay and a month's worth of interest.

It may give you confirmation immediately but doesn't debit your bank account for several days. The same will apply with this payment. The earliest it will leave is Monday, given it's a weekend.

FPs leave the bank account immediately, even on a weekend, and are normally faster to credit the receiving account.

Glad the due date is not the 28th, at least there is no risk of a late payment fee/marker and it will give you an idea of the timescale involved for the future.

Any payments take at least 2 working days to appear on the online dashboard. I pay my creation bill by debit card every month and in never shows straight away.
