Forgive me but this is probably going to be a stupid question.

Can I use my Halifax clarity credit card in Scotland without any extra fees added on. Haven't been to Scotland before as an adult. Also do they accept England bank notes as well

... and it does sound Scottish when you spell it Clairty....
  • It's also worth taking some livestock with you for bartering, as credit cards are not always widely accepted that far from civilisation.

They do. But one thing to watch out for is having Scottish notes when you come back as they may not be easy to use in England, especially the further south you go. Now I live in England I try to make sure I use all my Scottish notes before I travel home.
  • Just make sure you get your visa stamped before crossing the border and you'll be golden.

I would ignore all the obvious trolls in this thread OP.

You need to apply for a visa at least 6 months before you travel (a Visa credit card will not be accepted) and must submit to a full rectal examination before being readmitted to the UK (which Scotland has not been a part of since the Great Deep-Fried Mars Bar War of 1996.)

I would agree with some posters that taking some livestock would be helpful, and unmarried daughters are widely accepted.
