And these days this is rubbish too!

    Even in deepest darkest Cornwall.
You guys must look dubious, it is at least 25 years since a shop south of the border refused to take a Scottish fiver, or bigger, off me.

I've twice had a Scottish note refused by shops, and that was in London. In the end, I had to take it to a bank to change it.

Last year, I got offered one as change in the Coop, (not London), but I refused it, as I didn't want to risk the same hassle.

By the way, OP, you do have to be a bit wary of the wild animals.
The Loch Ness Monster leaves the loch at night and roams the glens looking for tasty [STRIKE]foreigners[/STRIKE]Englishmen to devour.

Then there are those pesky little wild haggises which will trip you up if you're circling the mountainside in the wrong direction to that which that particular species is circling.

    I'm in a clique! It's a clique of one! It's a unique clique!
    I love

  • All this talk of passports and visa is nonsense. The only thing that can catch you out is the time difference.

Just remember to set your watch back to about 1985.
I don't like morning people. Or mornings. Or people.

And then there's the night-time curfews.

What time is it, you have to be in by?

The curfew only applies in the central belt and southern Scotland. North of that, there is no need for a curfew as the Highland midge dives everyone indoors as soon as it starts to get dark.

They have no mercy and hunt in swarms numbering in the millions. Nobody north of Stirling is a blood donor, as they lose so much of it every time they step outside.

    You have been warned.
