that there was a new thread on places to eat out that included the Ava (my fav) but I can't find it. Is a certain pompous Chef now demanding threads that include any competition be removed?

Well I'm just back from The Back Street Cafe and had a beautiful meal, 2 course and wine £30 per couple. The moroccan lamb was "to die for"0

Where is that, what is the veggie menu like?0

Never looked at the veggie menu. It's in Holborn Avenue - used to be Henley's Stone House0

Personally I'm amazed that the Toni and Guy thread is still there half way down the board - the similarities to the Bangor triangle post is astounding (although users "Hairspray" and "Curling Tongs" are yet to post singing their praises).Life in this world is, as it were, a sojourn in a cave. What can we know of reality? For all we can see of the true nature of existence is, shall we say, no more than bewildering and amusing shadows cast upon the inner wall of the cave by the unseen blinding light of absolute truth, from which we may or may not deduce some glimmer of veracity, and we as troglodyte seekers of wisdom can only lift our voices to the unseen and say humbly "Go on, do deformed rabbit again.....it's my favourite". © Terry Pratchett in "Small Gods"
