Can anyone recommend any good restaurants in Newcastle please? Bonus if they are child friendly(for 3 and 5 year olds). I searched but couldn't find anything for Newcastle.
TIA.

Stone Boat Restaurant very nice. Menu attached- warning prices have increased slightly but still good value.http://www.stoneboatrestaurant.com/bar_snack_menu.htm
Child friendly and if it is nice day you can sit outside overlooking the sea.
Also good is the Strand restaurant right in the centre0 -

I'd second the strand, pink frontage on the main road facing beach, lovely food!!! I've never had any problems with taking my dd with me there, have been there loads of time

I think that Jersy is referring to The Burrendale. It is indeed nice. In fact it is awfully awfully nice! Probably better to give them a ring to check what they offer for children (though tbh I think it would be v.unlikely if they didn't welcome children, it has always struck me as a family orientated place).0 -
there was a nice pizza/italian further up the main st on a 2nd floor that we took my neice to last summer that was lovely. Also the hasting hotel is quite nice too with a country kitchen that again i took my neice to0

There's a Slug and Lettuce on the Quayside and you can exchange your Tesco vouchers for clubcard deals to use there.
Always found the food to be good.Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time0 -
The Percy French is the pub/restaurant attached to the Slieve Donard Hotel, has a reasonably mixed menu and should be fine for kids. Zio is fine for families and has sandwich/pasta/pizza. I've not tried Zest but hear that it's nice. There's the Saltgrass (I think) on the front - more of a cafe so quite informal. Maud's cafe is very family friendly, ie always lots of kids in. If you have transport and can go a few miles out of Newcastle, Annalong harbour has a pub/restaurant with nice views (and a very good fish shop), Dundrum has the Mourne Seafood Bar and the Buck's Head, the Round Tower (some of the best views in NI) (been in all 3 with kids), and another cople of pub/restaurants and there's a pub/restaurant in Maghera.0

My vote is for The Vine restaurant in the Burrendale, especially Sunday lunch.0
