Always be very explicit with garages what you do and do not authorise them to do. Repeat it, and make them repeat it back to you.
In this case what you had to do was phone garage up and say
"The person who sold me the car is a mechanic and has offered to do the work for me, please tell me how much I owe you for what you have done so far"
You still have this option, I suggest you go to the garage and see for yourself what stage the work is at. If he has yet to crack the head bolts it is not too late to tell him to stop. I would go there and tell him to STOP anyway until you have discussed further with seller.
You would tow the car to the seller or ask the seller to help you tow it to him.0 -
had a phone call from the garage today and he said i was lucky as it only needs a new cam so i`m over the moon 200 instead of 800 thanks to all you guys for you help i think he didnt mess me about cause he thought i knew what i was talking about thanks to you lot xxxxx:beer::iloveyou:0
