What am I meant to do? Allow Vodafone to debit my account with various random amounts that don't resemble my bill?
No, you don't cancel the direct debit. You ask your bank to reject each incorrect transaction as "amount not due". This will send a message back to Vodafone that the amount is wrong and they need to look into it.

Well its done now.....according to me ( backed up by info on web chats ) says my account should be in credit.

So why / how they have generated a amount of 75.14 to send to my bank is beyond me, and more importantly to those I have chatted to on we chat. They assure me all is in order and none of my lines will be barred.

Beyond this I am at a loss
  • Ok, so I'm just off the webchat

4 times I asked the adviser

How much have you requested from my bank is respect of my most recent bill of 202.12.

And 4 times he said 202.12.

    Another different amount from Vodafone
  • As I told you - a waste of time like every other route apart from the WRT. Cancelling the dd may be "done", but you are shooting youself in the foot - both feet, in fact.
  • vodafone is honestly one of the worst phone companies ever. Never again and I can't recommend it to anyone. Their service is fine but the prices are astronomical and their contracts are too complicated

Surely the WRT and the people on the webchat access the same information...

  • How long to get reference number .
  • Surely the WRT and the people on the webchat access the same information...

You're missing the point. It's whether they care and what they do which matter. One see it's role to fob you off and the other is the complete opposite.
  • Ok, let's see what happens
