Experian Credit File

Hi
Hope someone can help.
Up until yesterday i had an experian score of 913 which was in the good category.
I applied for a Santander 123 account and was accepted and guess what? my score dropped to 867 and now rated fair.
I didn't request an overdraft, i just wanted to change from a no frills account to something that offered me interest.
I rang experian and they told me that the reason it has dropped is because the credit check by Santander was detrimental to me.
As you can imagine i think this is an absolute disgrace. This is the first credit check in well over a year i have had
Has anyone else had this issue and if so can i do anything about it?
Hope someone can help.

your credit "score" is seen by no one apart from you , it is a made up number designed to worry you as sell you add-ons to improve itSave a Rachael

Thanks and i get that.
My gripe about this is the fact that they have the temerity to show one credit check in over 12 months as a negative0 -
Why Santander 123?
Why not Nationwide FlexDirect, TSB Classic Plus, Bos Vantage, Tesco, Club Lloyds?...all of which will pay you more interest than Santander 123.0 -
They don't 'show it' as negative.
The CRAs just show all searches on your file.
Experian perceive it as negative, which is pretty irrelevant given that they are never going to offer you any form of credit.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Budgeting & Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, Credit File & Ratings and Energy boards. I think the drop in your credit score was more likely due to other factors.0
