Oh, is the thread for cash buyers only?

The link to this thread in your link has me scratching my head, Crashy. I'm obviously not too good at lateral thinking.....

Does this mean the price of sofas is also about to rise? Will marginal sofas be re-covered and rehabilitated? What about brownfield sofas? My mind's in a complete tizz now.

Anyway, mortgage increases aren't a problem. Like the majority of owner-occupiers I don't need one.

    Can't speak for the OP.
  • Personally - can we specialise in comfortable sofas Dave? The type one sinks into with a sigh.....

Maybe they are about to increase in price? Well - I know the one I've just bought is - as I got it at sale price:)

Perhaps I should sell my existing one - "One careful owner. Property suits many tastes".

    You can.

My two are actually cast-offs from a project which houses less advantaged people. They had some nicer ones donated, and as there was then clearly a danger than the 'clients' might drag the old ones outdoors and sit smoking fags and other substances on them, I kindly agreed to use my van for their disposal. :A

But right at this moment my plasterer is spreading something brown and unattractive called 'Carlite bonding' within a few centimetres of them, while I've just Kango-hammered some bricks into a pulp a few metres the other way, so it's probably best that they're a bit naff! :rotfl:
  • £0 has to beat around £2.5k - and that was sale price.

    You win.....:rotfl:
  • Complain to the council. We had a roll of carpet in the front yard after a flood and got a letter from the council telling us it had to be removed.

Buyers are going to get a LOT thinner on the ground (yes even thinner than now) so quibbling over "silly low offers" that are in fact very reasonable, and only a few thousand under asking is a very dangerous move right now, if you genuinely want to sell that is. IMO of course.

That drum of yours must surely be due a new skin.

Your raison d'être is proving untrue.

I've no reason to fear a crash, but constantly talking it up seems a bit counter productive and negative.

Most cash buyers don`t need one either.

Just drawing attention to the fact that blaming not being able to sell your house on a sofa sitting in someone`s garden is stretching it a bit, a bit head in the sand IMO considering the economic realities just now.
The drum doesn`t need a new skin, the much larger MSM drum is banging away with all the old HPC meme`s every day now. A good HPC will be the healthiest thing to happen to UK society in 20 years IMO.
