Neighbours with sofa in front garden!

Offer them a couple of 'spare' garden chairs to replace it.0

Tell the council you have seen rats around it0
-
Go and sit on it with your sandwiches and flask. If they ask why, say that you assumed it had been provided for the community. Make sure you leave plenty of food droppings to encourage the rats though.0

Hi
We are currently in the process of trying to sell our bungalow. The house is on a nice estate, however the neighbours (across the road) around a month a go put a 3 seater sofa near their front door! They used to have two wooden chairs there that they sat on when it was sunny, however now they have a big sofa and coffee table and it looks terrible! Is there some way to complain about this as I think it's putting people who view the house off? Surely it can't be allowed?
Congratulations!!
If this is the biggest worry you have you are doing well!
Do you seriously think anyone is not going to buy your house on a "nice estate", on the basis of a sofa outside someone's house??
If your house is correctly priced it will sell, sofa or no sofa.
Any sensible person will realise it will be gone at some point in the future.
Chill out; in the context of neighbours doing things that can **** up your life, this is small beer.
Good luck0 -
You could always go round one night and dump another sofa next to it. Wait a few days then add an old fridge. Then if they ever mention anything, nod sympathetically about their garden becoming a target for fly tippers.0

Douse it with this stuff in the night. http://www.diy.com/departments/fortress-black-gloss-anti-climb-paint-25l/80927_BQ.prd0

Our front garden is, quite frankly a mess, but I've neither the inclination or time to do anything about it at the mo.
Anyway the house opposite was on the market for ages and I joked to my mum that I was wondering if our garden was putting buyers off. The look she gave me said it all so I replied that if someone was going to judge me as a neighbour because of the state of my garden then that was their look out.0 -
How bizarre! Is it really a sofa or is it an actual garden furniture sofa like these?

Surely a sofa outdoors is going to get wet and smelly?
These threads always divide people. Some people think you're a judgemental eejit if you want to live somewhere that looks nice and others agree with you. I don't see what's wrong with wanting to live somewhere that looks nice, messy gardens just bring an area down!0 -

We couldn't see it from our place, so it was of little concern, but I did a double-take the first time I clapped eyes on it.
I agree that most of us select our properties with careful consideration of the immediate area in which they're located, so discarded property in front gardens nearby will be a negative factor for anyone selling. That's not a judgemental statement; it's just common sense.0
