dodgy mot

If the plates don't match then try the police. And the car type they match to, any down your street?
I'd ignore the posters complaining it's none of your business0 -
First reaction is that it's an old cloned vehicle. Assume this, tell the Police you think it's a clone vehicle and if/when they come check it out, if it turns out it's had a dodgy MOT then questions are going to be asked.
It's possible that someone has got cloned plates because the car isnt roadworthy and they don't have anywhere else to store it.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Driving around in their car with the new reg and shiny plates whilst the
old cars sits there with the same plates on because they couldnt be bothered
to swap them to the new ones supplied by the DVLA?
So your checking the MOT status of their other car, not the one thats parked up?
I assume both the 'new' and 'old' vehicles would have to be the same make or otherwise most MOT checking websites would throw up an error when you run the check?0 -

Put the plates into one of the parts websites, to find out what model they come back as. But, of course, that doesn't prove <this> silver Fiesta is a different car to <that> silver Fiesta.
There used to be various ways of getting the VIN, so you can do a simple check to see if it's the actual car, but I'm not aware of any sites currently working.0 -
Go on, be honest. This has nothing to do with an altruistic desire to keep nuns and kittens safe by ensuring all vehicles are safe and legal, does it?
You just want the rusting wreck removed so it'll increase parking spaces and make your street look less crappy.0 -

What's wrong with that?0 -
^^ Nothing wrong with that if the car has been left there rather than taking it to a scrappers yard.
A lot wrong with it, if as in a few cases i've seen, it's just snobby neighbours wanting to see brand new cars all the way down the road.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Nothing, but dressing it up as 'I'm a concerned citizen trying to fight crime' clouds the basic question, which is 'I don't like the old rusty car which is sitting in my street, how can I get it removed?'0 -

Exactly, particularly if the car is insured, MOTd and taxed... I don't know if that's the case with this particular vehicle, but it could be - and if it is, then it's perfectly OK for it to be there no matter how horrible it looks0 -

And you'd accept the situation if it had been parked outside or near your house for 18 months? Or are you just being argumentative on purpose?0
