So on the same lines... when looking at my dealership price breakdown, the LIST PRICE also includes (currently) £230 for Road Fund Licence.
The dealer would move the RFL out of the list price, and into the OTR price.0 -
Why would it be anything other than exactly the same basis as P11D BiK values?

What would be the difference between charging when empty and charging overnight when not run down completely?
Depends how empty doesn't it?
I've got a Renault Zoe, and it has a 22kWh battery. As in, put out 1kW, for 22 hours. I've got a 7kW charger in the garage.
If my car was empty, like, pushing it up the driveway empty, then theoretically, I'd be taking 7kW of energy, for 3 hours.
If it was half full, I'd be taking 7kW for 1.5 hours, theoretically.
It gets a bit more complicated as they slow down when nearly full, and of course there are losses, but that's easy enough to work from.
Different cars charge at different speeds (at home there will be 7kW and 3 kW chargers, or about 2kW from a 3 pin plug (granny cable), and of course have different capacities, but to assume that every electric car will suck its full capacity from the grid, is utterly wrong. And which century do you predict that will happen?
Ignoring Tesla, which already has 300 mile range, and sticking to the mainstream, Zoe had about 80 in 2013, and will be 150 in 2017. Extrapolate that!Surely the best way to improve the range and viability of electric cars would be to have fuel stations where you can simply swap a near empty cell for a full one.
Renault Fuego, Saudi Arabia I think. This requires infrastructure, even if you use existing dealerships and fuel stations, and nobody on most of the planet seems to want to invest.0 -
At Comcar we eventually got sort of an answer from Gov.uk . The £40,000 list price threshold will include the cost of most options, delivery and VAT but exclude the £55 First Year Registration fee and First Year VED. For most cars and configurations this will be the same value as the P11d price. Options such as extended warranty and servicing should not be included in either the P11d or DVLA price.
There are a few potential exclusions from P11d values such as a mobile phone installation pack which would be included in DVLA values.
In practice, the system will rely on the dealer/seller making the correct calculation and informing the DVLA, based on the official list price of the day before registration. The way that prices are jumping up hundreds of pounds a month at the moment, you will also need to watch out for any delay in registration.0 -
Wonder why British politicians are so happy to enact cliff-edge tax schemes.0

Is my 120g/km £30 a year tax diesel going to get a hike?0

I wonder if we're going to start seeing a lot of after-market dealer fitted features on cars around the threshold?
Would be easy enough to deal with lots of bolt-on changes after delivery (but before collection), like upgraded wheels, brake discs, head units, and so on.0
