Linked address causing problems

Hi.
Really hoping someone can give me some advice. I've never had issues in the past with applications for credit and regularly keep an eye on my credit file. My credit report is currently showing as 'good' with a score of roughly 900.
I recently applied for a new bank account but have been declined. The reason they gave was for a linked address. My partner also lives at the same address as me and has recently taken out a loan with no issues. We've basically lived together for the past 6 and half years in 3 separate addresses apart from a period of 6 months where we split up and I moved in to a different flat.
I thought it may be that particular address but since then I was accepted for credit on a sofa which has now been paid off.
I'm baffled, so was wondering if anyone could offer any advice. I've requested a copy of my credit report again to see if anything flags up but I'm at a loss and worried about future credit

If the address is not one you have lived at, then raise a dispute with the CRA.0

Did you put that different address down on the application form where it asked for address history?0
-
Thanks for your responses.
I'll double check once the report comes through, it said roughly 7 days.
It asked for the last two addresses so definitely inputted the right ones0 -
Your credit score isn't seen by lenders, just you can see it.0

So had my credit report and checked the linked address, all addresses I've lived at so no dispute there. Is it possible that someone else has run up debt at an address I've lived at which is marking me down? I'm so confused, credit reports baffle me0

If I were you I'd get back to the bank and ask them exactly what the problem is.
As far as I am aware, there is no such thing as an "address blacklist". People unrelated to you (i.e. that you don't have joint credit with) who live or lived at the same address as you don't have any bearing on your credit file.0 -
I think I'm going too. There's nothing flagging up to me. Ok I've got some student debt and a credit card but it's managed and I've never had any problem in the past. Thanks for the reply0

Linked addresses is one of the many scandals that CRAs are allowed to get away with. A linked address is held against you indefinitely, not just for six years. Amongst other things this allows low-life scum like private parking companies to dump you with a CCJ at an old address, which is then picked up by a lender. There are several other issues with linked addresses, but they are too detailed to go into here.
There is no address blacklist. Is there not? So how do we know this? Lenders supposedly have access to your complete address history, thanks to surveillance by the CRAs. We don't know how lenders assess you for credit, since it's commercially sensitive. So maybe lenders will blacklist you based on an address at which other people have had credit problems (e.g. they paid the gas bill late by a day back in 2012!). We simply do not know!0 -
Who did you apply for a current account with?

I think your confusing linked addresses with address history, Linked addresses are when you are financially associated with someone else at that address0
