Well I have been plodding along making a small payment this month and will try to make a large payment in December.
We had e enjoyed a other 2 nights away in November in Dundee. It was great and we visited quite a few different places. The kids were off for 2 days inservice so made the most of it.
Got most of my Christmas presents bought. Only a handful to buy and start to wrap them getting a bit hectic as getting stuff ready for son's birthday party next week and then count down to getting sort for Christmas. Been wrapping his birthday presents today so all done and he is happy he is having a laser tag party.
Got all santa presents done which is good so only need to wrap. Bye for now and will try to update again soon.1 -
Well Christmas went well as we had hubbies family over parents and his sister and 3 nephews. On Boxing Day my parents and brothers were over before one brother was leaving to go to Shanghai for work for 2mths. It was great to catch up.
Kids loved their Santa presents which was good. Daughter and I went shopping to get her some new clothes with her Xmas money whilst dad and son went to see Star Wars. Glad back to normal and need to knuckle down to eating normal losing a bit of weight before ew york in April.
Made an overpayment to mortgage in December of £1100. Did not make my target of 2019 but it was too high.1 -
I have joined the 2020 challenge and have set a target of £3000 - hopefully achievable.
Last year I managed to pay £4055 over and above usual payments which is reasonable I think. The balance of our mortgage as at 1st January was £88843.69 so will see how 2020 pans out.
We have 2 big holidays in April and end June to New York and Tenerife and continuing to put money away in our isa every month. The 0%credit card is nearly clear - this should be clear in February as hubbie used it over christmas.
Will try to update more regularly on what going on.1 -
Made an overpayment of £80 to the mortgage the other day for January. Don't think I will make any more overpayments in January so I don't leave myself short for January. I've got vouchers to use up for Sainsbury so using them next week to get food shopping.1

Your doing really weel. keep plodding and you will get there.
Take care2 -
Well made it out of January will money in the bank as did not put as much away in savings etc in case. Just made an overpayment today of £140. Hope to make another wee payment late in the month. We have paid our April holiday and have spending money sitting for us, so now got to save for the July holiday otherwise will need to dip into savings which may happen.
Not much expenditure this month as bought a few present only 1 more for me to buy but it’s my birthday mid month so it depends how much hubbie decides to spend. Got both car insurance coming up soon but should have enough put aside for this. Conintuing to put money aside in both ideas.2 -
Made an overpayment of £80 today so overpayment total is £220 for February. Money still left in bank but we are out with friends on Saturday so will keep this in case. Need to resort money at end of month when hubbie gets paid to put most of the extra money into the holiday fund and a small amount into our ISAs.

I have made an overpayment to the mortgage today of £3000, which we had in the savings. Hopefully will make another payment later in the month. Trying to do this now before I arrange another deal for part 1 and part 2 later on this month as I can do this soon even though the deal expires 31st may. Going to look into this soon when I get my letter stating when the mortgage term will be reduced due to this larger amount being paid in. Will need to look to see if taking a 2 or 5 year deal. Hubbie wants to do a 5 year deal as rate not that different and think they are slightly lower than we have at the moment.
Paid a small amount into our isa and a bigger amount into the holiday fund as need to try to build this up or will need to dip into the ISAs money for the summer holiday which we have booked.1 -
That’s a splendid OP. How many years left on the mortgage overall? At least a 5 year fix means you don’t have to faff around for 5 years!2
