Amazon's Black Friday Deals thread (2016)

I've been on the site a few times, and just can't figure it out. In previous years, there were rows and rows of deals, and you could see what was coming up at what time. Now, there's a right mish mash - lightning deals, black friday fortnight deals, various other deals... anyone got an easy way of looking? I know i can narrow it down by category, but even then it's all over the place. Any tips?
Entirely agree - it's a dog's breakfast. So much so that I've given up even bothering to look.
I think the idea is to hide the few genuine bargains (not that I've noticed any of those so far) in amongst all the garbage so that you have to trail through the garbage first - with the hope that you'll buy some of it.
It's become a bit like shopping in Poundland - there may be some bargains to be had, but have you really got the time or the inclination to try to find them?0 -
Has anyone found a good strategy to search deals? it is so rubbish not to have the scrolling list as in previous years as can't really plan which items I might be interested and when they will be available, I am much less likely than last year or other years to actually purchase anything if it is not easy to navigate. Poor show Amazon.Just because your paranoid does not mean they are not out to get you ! :rotfl:0

Go to the black Friday deals page
Scroll down and there's a full section that's titled Shop all deals
Down the left hand side there are categories to filter.
Select upcoming
Then sort the deals by Price Low-High and you'll get them in time order.
Edit: And then click on watch item if you want to be notified when they come up0 -

Totally agree, the layout is earth-shatteringly poor, particularly when you are looking out for lightening deals.
My rule of thumb basically is narrow it down by category, as best you can, and assume the things you are going to perhaps desperately want, or things that are about to run out, are buried approx. 7-9 pages in.0 -
So disappointing, there used to be such fast moving and funny threads on here at all hours as we bought up genuine bargains and discussed the madness but this years range is utter rubbish.
The Kitchen Aids I never managed to get my mitts on, the £20 sketchers trainers I did and the masses of old pruck that ended up being big Christmas winners with my children.Total debt £20,000 Northern Rock loan:eek:

It is a mess this year. A shame as it was easier to scroll through and see the time stuff started. Now it just seems to be here and there.
There's a lot that is "... from £699" or whatever - no actual prices of things. The yearly Bosch screwdriver, which I did buy as I knew it would be on.0 -
I've found a way to just look at the lightning deals, not that any of them are really worth a look
I'm hoping next weeks will be better :rotfl:
Don't go to the Black Friday deals page.
Go to Amazon's home page, click today's deals -
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/deals/ref=nav_cs_gb
Then if you scroll down on the left hand side (past the departments section) there is a "Deal Type" section and it has a lightning deals option which you can select."Opportunity only knocks once.It doesnt knock, knock again, then leave a note asking you to give it a call back when you've got your s*** together".John Connolly0 -
