At the risk of repeating myself for a 4th time ... remove the driver and package
And remove both the brother drivers/packages
Note : you may need to stop/start the spooler again before hand, depending what state its in0 -
have removed one of the X86 but the other shows
The following package(s) can not be deleted:
brprb7e1.inf
This package contains the following driver(s) that are in use:
Brother DCP-135C Printer; This driver is used on:
Brother DCP-135C Printer
The following driver(s) can not be deleted:
Driver Brother DCP-135C Printer is in use. It is used on:
Brother DCP-135C Printer
this was whether i ticked just driver or incl. package.
Still worth going for a new instal ?0 -
stop the spooler, start it again and QUICKLY go to delete the driver/package again
You have found the driver that your printer is using, so going for a re-install before removing that one is unlikely to work as it didnt the first time you tried .0 -
Oh, and right click on the printer and choose "remove/delete" or whatever the wording is in vista0
-
no drivers/packages now showing
spooler off/on
printer shows as "deleting" (not deleted. Ie I can still 'see' it)
bell sounds
Instal is downloded, but
"connect USB to PC and machine
switch machine on
wait for instalation process to continue"
It doesn't. Does nothing/does not proceed. Back and NEXT are still shown as greyed out0 -
yes but still shows as deletING not deletED (ie just not showing).
Right click > delete.... it doesnt
NOT showing though in list of programs....0 -
stop the spooler and actually turn off your computer
(not sleep or hibernate, actually shut it down)
When you restart it the printer should be gone0 -
OK, ,will do/again.
But, I have downloaded the drivers again, and the instalation will go no further because the 'next' and 'back' buttons are still greyed out0 -
Forget that for now, lets get rid of that old/corrupt install.
Then, before you start the new driver software, id like you to plug in your printer to the usb port and see if windows does something other than beep at you
ie. asks you for driver disk etc0
